Summary

“it’s a small world” is closed for a two month refurbishment and to be converted to “it’s a small world” Holiday. During the refurbishment, “it’s a small world” Toy Shop is also being refurbished but will reopen next Saturday, October 19, 2024, a little less than a month before the attraction reopens.

There’s still no official reopening date for the reimagined Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. I had assumed it would reopen on November 15, 2024 along with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but then I heard a rumor this week from a Disneyland Cast Member that the quick-service location will not reopen until after the holidays. That rumor has not been confirmed. The dining location is still listed on the Disneyland refurbishment calendar as of the November 24, 2024 (which is as far out as the refurbishment calendar goes) so it may still be closed after Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was added to the Disneyland Resort refurbishment calendar this week. The attraction will close on November 18, 2024 but no reopening date listed at this time.

World of Color – ONE at Disney California Adventure Park is scheduled to begin performances again starting Friday, October 25, 2024.

The LEGO Store in Downtown Disney District has temporarily closed for refurbishment. This is one of the most popular stores in the district so it is a huge surprise to see it on the refurbishment calendar so close to the holidays.

The LEGO Store was one of the original retail locations when Downtown Disney District opened in 2001. The store has closed before for refurbishement so this should be a normal refurbishment. The Disneyland refurbishment calendar currently only shows information through November 24, 2024 so it is possible that The LEGO Store could reopen before Thanksgiving. Keep checking back for updates.

To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.

Check back every week for an updated list of closures at the Disneyland Resort.
