California State Treasurer’s Office has announced plans for a Disneyland-themed specialized license plate that will raise funds for children’s hospitals across the state.
Today, leaders from the Disneyland Resort and the California Children’s Hospital Association along with representatives from the California Health Facilities Financing Authority came together to announce the planned license plate. Once 7,500 people show interest in preorders on the State Treasurer’s website, the plate will move forward in the Department of Motor Vehicles’ approval process. And once approved, the final design will be revealed in the coming months as well as opening up preorders for fans wanting to add the Disneyland-themed license plate to their vehicle.
Specialized license plates will cost $50 for sequential and $103 for personalized (plus a nonrefundable credit card processing fee), with an annual renewal fee of $40 or $83, respectively. These fees are in addition to the standard vehicle registration fees.
California children’s hospitals that will benefit from the sale of the Disneyland-themed license plate include:
- Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
- Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital
- Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford
- MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach
- Rady Children’s Health Orange County
- Rady Children’s Health San Diego
- UC Davis Children’s Hospital
- UC Irvine Health Children’s Hospital
