Downtown Disney District

The following food & beverage locations are currently under construction and taking over a previously closed location at Downtown Disney District:

Porto’s Bakery & Cafe (formerly Earl of Sandwich and La Brea’s Bakery) – December 8, 2025 – TBD

Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ (formerly Tortilla Jo’s) – March 31, 2024 – TBD
- The former Tortilla Jo’s location will be replaced with two new dining locations — a new Steakhouse and BBQ dining location.

Disneyland Park

With two of the busiest weeks of the year just around the corner, all attractions, food & beverage locations and merchandise shops are currently open and operating as normal at Disneyland Park. After the first of new year, a few refurbishments are planned including converting both Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday to the regular non-holiday versions of the attractions.

Other upcoming refurbishments include the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia. Also, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will close on January 20, 2026 for its first major refurbishment since the attraction opened in 2019.

Disney California Adventure Park

At Disney California Adventure Park, Grizzly River Run will close on January 5, 2026 for its annual refurbishment. In addition, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Incredicoaster and Lamplight Lounge & Boardwalk Dining are all scheduled to close for refurbishment after the first of the new year.

New Attractions Coming

Construction of Avengers Campus expansion has been changing rapidly since the beginning of this year. The walk-way between Avenger’s Campus and Cars Land has been closed for months while new restrooms are constructed behind the Ancient Sanctum. The walk-way will most likely be closed throughout the expansion of the campus which currently does not have a scheduled completion date.

Avenger’s Campus will double in size with two new attractions when the expansion is complete. At this time, a completion date for the Campus expansion has not been announced.

Avengers Campus Expansion at Disney California Adventure Park

Construction has begun on an all-new Coco attraction. Since the attraction is going to be built behind Pixar Pier in areas that are predominantly backstage, there shouldn’t be a lot of closures involved with the new attractions construction until close to its opening date. I suspect some part of Paradise Gardens Park will be affected by the new attraction but hopefully not until the Coco attraction is within a few months of its grand opening.

And lastly, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be permanently closing early 2026 so construction can begin on the new Avatar experience coming to Disney California Adventure Park. An official closing date has not been announced at this time.

Refurbishments

To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.
