Summary

Disneyland Park

At Disneyland Park, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train are all currently closed for refurbishment. Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will reopen after the Labor Day weekend on September 5, 2025. Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train do not have a reopening date at this time.

Star Tours - The Adventures Continue

The Haunted Mansion is currently closed to transform the attraction to Haunted Mansion Holiday for the remainder of the year. Haunted Mansion Holiday is scheduled to open this Friday, August 22, 2025 which is also the start of Halloween time at the Disneyland Resort.

Upcoming refurbishments at Disneyland Park include Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closing on September 2, 2025, Mark Twain Riverboat from September 8, 2025 – September 11, 2025, Main Street Cinema starting September 8, 2025, Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island closing on September 15, 2025, Dumbo the Flying Elephant closing on September 16, 2025 and Sailing Ship Columbia starting September 22, 2025. Most of these refurbishments are short, meaning the attraction will only be closed for a few days. But three attractions, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train do not have a reopening date on the calendar at this time.

Disney California Adventure Park

At Disney California Adventure Park, Radiator Springs Racers closed today for about a 6 week refurbishment. The attraction is scheduled to reopen on September 26, 2025 with no other refurbishments listed on the parks calendar at this time.

The Hyperion Theater is not undergoing a refurbishment but has been closed since August 2023. The queue area is used for special events and as an expanded guest dining area. At this time, no announcements have been made for the unused Hyperion Theater or its large queue area. However, the queue area is currently being used during Oogie Boogie Bash events for the Ernesto de la Cruz treat trail.

New Attractions Coming

The construction of the Avengers Campus expansion has been changing rapidly with steel beam walls up for one of the new attractions. The walk-way between Avenger’s Campus and Cars Land has been closed for a few months while new restrooms are constructed. The walk-way will most likely be closed throughout the expansion of the campus which currently does not have a scheduled completion date.

Avenger’s Campus will double in size with two new attractions when the expansion is complete. At this time, a completion date for the Campus expansion has not been announced.

Construction is scheduled to begin on an all-new Coco attraction this fall. Since the attraction is going to be built behind Pixar Pier in areas that are predominantly backstage, there shouldn’t be a lot of closures involved with the attractions construction until close to the opening. I suspect some part of Paradise Gardens Park will be affected by the new attraction but hopefully not until the Coco attraction is within a few months of its grand opening.

And lastly, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be permanently closing early 2026 so construction can begin on the new Avatar experience coming to Disney California Adventure Park. An official closing date has not been announced at this time.

Refurbishments

To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.

Check back each week for an update on refurbishments going on around the Disneyland Resort.
