Summary
Disneyland Park
At Disneyland Park, the 70th Anniversary Celebration has kicked off with several attractions closed for refurbishment with many more attractions coming up on the refurbishment schedule. Matterhorn Bobsleds and Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room are both closed for refurbishment. Matterhorn Bobsleds does not have a reopening date on the calendar yet which means the attraction will be closed during most of the summer. The attraction is undergoing a major refurbishment which is projected to last at least 2-3 more months.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is scheduled to reopen on July 3, 2025, just in time for the holiday weekend but several other attractions will go down for refurbishment soon after.

Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow is scheduled to reopen on June 29, 2025. This small area has been closed for refurbishment since September 16, 2024 and has constantly been delayed from reopening for several months now. Even the beautiful fountains and water area was closed off a few weeks ago but those walls came down last week, even though the water area was dry. But, this time next week, we should be able to see the project after completion. By the way, Disneyland has changed the name of the area from Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow to See Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow. I’m not sure why the name of the area changed unless you won’t be able to actually “meet” Tinker Bell in the area any longer? We’ll find out what is happening with Pixie Hollow next week when the attraction reopens on Sunday.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is scheduled to close for refurbishment on June 30, 2025. Rumors have been swirling that Star Tours may be closing permanently and rethemed when Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run gets new missions in 2026. However, with the popularity of Star Tours, I doubt the attraction would close permanently without Disney making an announcement so guests could experience it one last time.
Main Street Cinema will close for two days in July to add the Sherman brothers short film. The cinema is scheduled to reopen on Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary, July 17, 2025.
And, Storybook Land Canal Boats will be closing on July 21, 2025 for a short refurbishment. Casey Jr. Circus Train was also added to the Disneyland Resort refurbishment calendar this week and is scheduled to close on July 28, 2025 so these two refurbishments must be related. The permit for Storybook Land Canal Boats hints at new show elements so that could mean enhancements to the existing boat ride show elements or a new miniature display for a previously released Disney animated movie. As soon as we learn more, I’ll be sure to share that information with you.
Disney California Adventure Park
At Disney California Adventure Park, both the swinging & non-swinging gondolas on the Pixar Pal-A-Round are scheduled to close for refurbishment starting July 14, 2025 for a 10 day refurbishment. Also, Radiator Springs Racers will close on August 18, 2025 for at least a month-long refurbishment (possibly longer).
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is scheduled to close for refurbishment starting July 21, 2025. This refurbishment is most likely to prepare the area for Villains Grove which is an exclusive walk-through area only available for Oogie Boogie Bash guests.
Incredicoaster was also added to the refurbishment calendar this week. The attraction will close on July 28, 2025 for an undetermined amount of time. Based on this and so many other refurbishments at Disneyland Park, I would suggest not planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort around the end of July and first of August.
The Hyperion Theater is not undergoing a refurbishment but has been closed since August 2023. The queue area is used for special events and as an expanded guest dining area. At this time, no announcements have been made for the unused Hyperion Theater or its large queue area. There is some speculation that an announcement for the theater and Hollywood Land will be coming soon but this has been a rumor for several weeks now with no announcement yet.
Also, the construction of the Avengers Campus expansion has extended out to the walk-way in between Avenger’s Campus and Cars Land. The walk-way will most likely be closed throughout the expansion of the campus which currently does not have a scheduled completion date.

Construction is scheduled to begin on an all-new Coco attraction this fall. Since the attraction will be built behind Pixar Pier in areas that are predominantly backstage, there shouldn’t be a lot of closures involved with the attractions construction until closure to the opening. I suspect some part of Paradise Gardens Park will be affected by the new attraction but hopefully not until the Coco attraction is within a few months of its grand opening.
Refurbishments
To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.
Check back every week for an updated list of closures at the Disneyland Resort.
