Planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort? Before you go, check the Disneyland Resort refurbishment calendar to make sure your favorite attractions, food & beverage locations and merchandise shops will be open during your visit. This is the May 2025 Week 4 edition for the Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland Park

The following attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops are currently closed for refurbishment at Disneyland Park:

The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln – April 16, 2024 – July 16, 2025
- The theater is currently being updated with a new show titled Walt Disney – A Magical Life that will open on July 17, 2025 on Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary. The show will rotate with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln throughout the year.
Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow – September 16, 2024 – June 28, 2025
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room – April 28, 2025 – TBD

Matterhorn Bobsleds – May 5, 2025 – TBD
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster – May 19, 2025 – June 12, 2025

Disney California Adventure Park

There are currently no attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops scheduled for refurbishment at Disney California Adventure Park.

Downtown Disney District

The following food & beverage locations are currently under construction and taking over a previously closed location at Downtown Disney District:

Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ (formerly Tortilla Jo’s) – March 31, 2024 – TBD
- Tortilla Jo’s closed in Downtown Disney on March 31, 2024 and nothing has happened to the vacated building since the dining location closed (which was almost a year ago) until this past week. Walls are now up around the building. The building is being modified for the two new locations that will be taking over the space. New Steakhouse and BBQ dining locations will soon take over the former Tortilla Jo’s in Downtown Disney District.

Summary

Disneyland Park

At Disneyland Park, the 70th Anniversary Celebration has kicked off with several attractions closed for refurbishment. Matterhorn Bobsleds, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster are all closed for refurbishment. Neither Matterhorn Bobsleds nor Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room have a reopening date on the calendar yet which means both attractions will be closed during most of the summer.

Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster in Mickey’s Toontown is currently closed for refurbishment. The attraction is scheduled to reopen on June 13, 2025 so this is a short refurbishment.

Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow has a reopening date on the refurbishment calendar that appears to be permanent. This small area has been closed for refurbishment since September 16, 2024 and has constantly been delayed from reopening for several months now. At this time, the meet & greet area is schedule to reopen on June 29, 2025 (but I wouldn’t be surprised if the date changes again).

Know Before You Go The Disneyland Resort Edition - Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow - 12.16.2024

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue showed up on the refurbishment calendar this week. The attraction is scheduled to close on June 30, 2025. Rumors have been swirling that Star Tours may be closing permanently and rethemed when Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run gets new missions in 2026. However, with the popularity of Star Tours, I doubt the attraction would close permanently without Disney making an announcement so guests could experience it one last time. One of the rumors that I heard was that the attraction would close and be rethemed to The Incredibles but again, that is only a rumor.

Disney California Adventure Park

At Disney California Adventure Park, no attractions, food & beverage locations or merchandise shops are on the refurbishment calendar. And even though the Hyperion Theater is not undergoing a refurbishment, it has been closed since August 2023. The queue area is used for special events and as an expanded guest dining area. At this time, no announcements have been made for the unused Hyperion Theater or its large queue area. There is some speculation that an announcement for the theater and Hollywood Land will be coming soon but this has been a rumor for several weeks now with no announcement yet.

To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.
