Narrator Revealed
Brie Larson is this years celebrity narrator for the Disneyland Candlelight Processional. She was spotted earlier today during a rehearsal soundcheck for the processional.
As you may know, Brie plays Carol Danvers in the 2019 Marvel Studios film Captain Marvel and this years’ film The Marvels. Disney usually invites a celebrity to narrate the Candlelight Processional that has been recently involved with the Walt Disney Company in some form or another.
Over past five years, the Disneyland Candlelight Processional has been narrated by Viola Davis (ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder) in 2022, Sterling K Brown (Black Panther & Frozen II) in 2021, Lin-Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns) in 2019, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) in 2018 and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) in 2017.
About the Disneyland Candlelight Processional
The Disneyland Candlelight Processional was started by Walt Disney himself in 1955 as a thank you to the community for their support of Disneyland and it has continued every year thereafter (except for 2020 because the park was closed due to COVID-19).
Each year, a large stage adorned with holiday decorations is built in front of the Disneyland Railroad Main Street entrance to accommodate the Candlelight Processional carolers and musicians. The procession begins as the carolers with candles in hand walk down Main Street USA to the stage for the performance.
Details About the Processional
Seating for each performance is only available for invited guests, but the processional can be viewed by guests in the park as the carolers walk down Main Street at the beginning of the procession. After the carolers have cleared Main Street, guests can gather around Main Street and Town Square to view the event from a distance.
Invited guests to the processional are usually Club 33 members, Cast Members, media and other select members. The Candlelight Processional takes place both Saturday and Sunday night at 5:30 PM and 7:45 PM (weather permitting).
Many guests without an invitation to the event will sit around all day long just to reserve a spot to view the Candlelight Processional. However, even though the view may not be great, you can listen to the performance on Main Street and also watch the beginning of the processional. The park becomes a gridlock before, during and after the performance.
