Zootopia 2 is now the highest-grossing animated Motion Picture Association (MPA) film of all time, having just surpassed Inside Out 2 which set the record in July 2024. With this historic milestone, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia 2 is also the 9th biggest film in history worldwide.

Zootopia 2 opened on November 26, 2025 to a record-breaking $559.5 million in five days, becoming the highest global animated opening of all time, the highest global debut of 2025, and the highest global opening for any animated film in Disney history. To date, the film has grossed $1.703 billion globally.

The Walt Disney Studios now holds the record with the top three animated MPA releases of all time with Zootopia 2 in the #1 position followed by Pixar’s Inside Out 2 (2024) and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen 2 (2019).

The first Zootopia film was released on March 4, 2016 and has grossed over $1 billion worldwide making the combined global box office total for both films over $2.73 billion to date.

Zootopia 2 stars Ginnifer Goodwin as the voice of Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as the voice of Nick Wilde. In addition, the film introduces new characters and cast members including Ke Huy Quan as the voice of Gary De’Snake, Fortune Feimster as the voice of Nibbles and Quinta Brunson as the voice of Dr. Fuzzby.
