Disney Parks and the Disneyland Resort revealed that Yzma from Walt Disney Animation Studios The Emperor’s New Groove is joining the cast of characters at Oogie Boogie Bash which starts on Tuesday, August 18th at Disney California Adventure Park.
Yzma
During each night of Oogie Boogie Bash, guests will have an opportunity to see Yzma on a Treat Trail during the special ticketed event. Yzma will be stirring up some mischievous mayhem in Grizzly Peak, delighting guests with her clever potion-making capabilities and “pulling every lever” she can find in pursuit of her latest scheme.

Syndrome and Maleficent
During the 2025 Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party events, Syndrome from Disney and Pixar’s The Incredibles and Maleficent from Disney Animation’s Sleeping Beauty joined the cast of characters at the event.
Syndrome appears on the Pixar Pier Treat Trail, replacing Sid from Toy Story who appeared on the Treat Trail during prior Oogie Boogie Bash parties.

Maleficent and all the powers of her imagination fill the dim night with sinister schemes and her ferocious fury during each of the Oogie Boogie Bash special-ticketed events. The mistress of all evil appears on Mountain Road in Grizzly Peak (behind the queue for Grizzly River Run). This Treat Trail was formerly occupied by Mother Gothel from Disney’s Tangled during the 2023 Oogie Boogie Bash events.
Returning Disney Villains

Returning villains include Hades from Hercules and Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb who were both new to the event in 2024. Both characters appear in Hollywood Land on the Treat Trails.
Roll the dice on an opportunity to see Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Hollywood Land or sing a secret song with Ernesto de la Cruz from Pixar’s Coco near the Hyperion Theater.
Additional returning Treat Trail characters include Agatha Harkness in Avengers Campus, Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit in Hollywood Land.
Other characters at Oogie Boogie Bash include Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as The Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus, Pain, Panic, and Megara from Disney Animation’s Hercules, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy from Disney’s Kingdom Hearts, select characters from Pixar’s Toy Story, Edna Mode and Mr. Incredible from Pixar’s The Incredibles and Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Scarlet Witch in Avengers Campus.

Oogie Boogie Bash offers 12 Treat Trails across Disney California Adventure Park where guests will encounter delightfully evil Disney Villains sharing their latest plans and schemes with attendees as they are given candy and other treats. Unfortunately, guests are not able to get up-close and personal with these villains on the Treat Trails to take side-by-side photos but selfies are easy enough to do. However, at Carthay Circle, guests can meet and visit with a few favorite Disney Villains as they rotate throughout the night. Previous year villains at Carthay Circle have included Hans from Frozen, the Old Hag from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Prince John from Robin Hood and Pain & Panic from Hercules, to name a few.

Oogie Boogie Bash returns to Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort starting this Tuesday, August 18, 2026 and runs on select nights through October 31, 2026. Tickets are still available for most events nights (as of the time of publication).
Are you attending Oogie Boogie Bash this year? Who is your favorite villain to meet? And, what is your favorite thing to do during the event. Let me know and maybe I’ll see you there!
