Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks and Disney Springs reopened today and resumed normal operations after Hurricane Milton passed through Central Florida late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. Disney Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf also reopened today resuming normal operations.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will reopen tomorrow, October 12, 2024, with regular park hours from 10:00am to 5:00pm ET. Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is currently closed for a planned refurbishment.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will reopen on Sunday, October 13, 2024. All other Walt Disney World Resort Hotels remained open during Hurricane Milton with limited services but have resumed normal operations.
The Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks and Disney Springs closed early Wednesday afternoon to take precautions and for the safety of Guests and Cast Members. Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida late Wednesday night. The storm left a path of destruction and power outages throughout the state of Florida. While the storm did not cause any major damage to the Walt Disney World Resort, the storm did cause flooding and destruction throught much of the state.
