A brand-new land based around Pixar Animation Studios’ Monsters, Inc. is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort and taking over Grand Avenue and Muppet*Vision 3D. So, to make way for this new land filed with monsters, the Muppets are moving to a new area of the theme park.
Beginning in May 2025, Grand Avenue area will begin a phased closing. The last day to dine at Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will be on May 10. And, the last day to experience Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo will be on June 7 with the entire area officially closed on June 8, 2025.

But, the Muppets aren’t completely moving out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the rest of the Muppets gang are moving right along to Sunset Boulevard and will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. This will be the first Disney ride ever to feature The Muppets so there’s sure to be laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure along with plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard! Disney has not announced if any of the Muppets themed dining locations will be relocated or reimagined on Sunset Boulevard.
And even though this move means that Muppet*Vision 3D will be closing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney is looking for other ways to preserve the classic film as well as other parts of the attraction for fans to enjoy in the future. But, until then, there’s still a few months left to enjoy the attraction before the final curtain call.
At this time, Disney has not announced a closing date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster so there is still time to enjoy the attraction starring Aerosmith before the Muppets take over and team up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.

As for the new Monsters, Inc. Land, guests will be able to stroll down the streets of Monstropolis and meet some of their favorite characters from the Disney-Pixar film. The new land will include a brand-new coaster attraction suspended ride that will recreate the door vault scene from the movie. The land will also include dining and shopping along with a new theater show. More details should follow once construction begins on the new land this summer.
