During the pandemic, three Disney-Pixar films went directly to Disney+ without first being released in theaters because either theaters were shut down or no one was going to the movies at the time. Now, these three Disney-Pixar films are heading to theaters in 2024.
Disney-Pixar Soul, Turning Red and Luca will all be available to watch on the big-screen for a limited engagement in the first quarter of 2024. Soul will hit theaters January 12, 2024. Turning Red will be in theaters starting February 9, 2024. And Luca will be swimming into theaters March 22, 2024.
Until now, these three films have only been available to stream or for purchase on Blu-Ray or DVD. Starting January 12th, you will be able to experience these animated films like never before.
Each theatrical release will also be preceded in theaters by a Pixar short. Soul will be preceded by the Pixar SparkShort “Burrow”. Turning Red will be preceded by the Pixar SparkShort “Kitbull”. And Luca will be preceded by the Pixar Short “For the Birds”.
Are you excited to see these films in theaters? Luca is one of my favorite Disney-Pixar films of all time so I am super excited to this film on the big screen. And in my opinion, whoever at Disney or Pixar had the idea to release these three films in theaters deserves a raise. This is a smart business move for the company. Not every household has access to stream these movies so sending these movies to the big-screen gives the entire nation the opportunity to watch these films.
