The Hatbox Ghost has finally arrived (or materialized) in the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort. It was first announced at the D23 Expo Parks Panel in 2022 that the Hatbox Ghost would be coming to the Magic Kingdom in Florida but it took quite a while for him to materialize on the east coast.

When the Haunted Mansion first opened at Disneyland Park in 1969, the Hatbox Ghost was a part of the spooky new attraction. But unfortunately, that wasn’t the right time for his appearance and he was removed from the attraction only a few days after the mansion opened to the public due to his magic hatbox trick being a little ahead of it’s time in 1969. But, then in 2015, the time was right and the Hatbox Ghost made his grand re-appearance in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Park at the end of the attic scene which has become very popular with guests.

However, at the Magic Kingdom in Florida, the Hatbox Ghost appears in a different location of the Haunted Mansion than he does in California. In Florida, he is standing next to the Endless Hallway in the mansion with a cart of hatboxes and luggage beside him, demonstrating his famous magic trick of making his eerie face appear in the hatbox he is holding.

The Hatbox Ghost has gained so much popularity over the years that he also appears in the Haunted Mansion movie that was released in theaters this past summer and is now available to stream on Disney+. That’s all I’ll say about that since I don’t want to give away any movie spoilers, but if you haven’t already, I suggest streaming the movie on Disney+.

Have you seen the Hatbox Ghost in Florida yet? And is he one of the 999 ghosts or does he make 1,000? Since he was part of the opening attraction in 1969, I consider the Hatbox Ghost as part of the 999 ghosts but he was just hiding out for a while in the mansion before making his grand re-appearance at Disneyland in 2015 and now at the Magic Kingdom in Florida just a few days ago.

Let me know if you are excited that the Hatbox Ghost being a part of the Haunted Mansion at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. I would love to hear from you.
