Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps topped the domestic box office this weekend and grossed $118 million with an additional $100 million from international movie-goers, grossing a total of $218 million on its opening weekend at the box office.
With this better than expected opening weekend, The Fantastic Four: First Steps film pushed The Walt Disney Company over the $3 billion mark at the box office making 2025 the fourth consecutive year that Disney achieved this milestone.

The No. 1 at the box office features Marvel’s First Family — Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing — in a 1960s retro futuristic adventure film. The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
In The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the team must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (played by Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Matt Shakman. The cast is also scheduled to appear in the next Avengers film Avengers: Doomsday which arrives in theaters next year on December 18, 2026.
