Do you love dining at Disneyland Park? And do you like breakfast for lunch or dinner? And do you crave down-home cooking or comfort foods? Well, River Belle Terrace for Brunch (or Dinner) might be right for you!
I dined at River Belle Terrace recently to try out their Brunch menu and to check out the restaurant, atmosphere and service. So sit back and relax while I review my experience.
Brunch Menu
Before I get into what I ordered, let’s take a look at the entire Brunch menu which has a little something for everyone.
Sandwiches
The menu includes three sandwiches, five “Comforts” which are basically breakfast entrees, one plant-based entree and four different Kids’ menu entrees. The sandwiches include a Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich (Fried Cherry Peppers, Pickle Coleslaw, BBQ Aïoli), a Country Cuban Sandwich (Pulled Pork, Country Ham, Dill Pickle) and a Smoke Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese (Brisket, Pickled Pepper Relish). All three sandwiches come with House Fries.
Comforts
The “Comforts” on the Brunch menu are my favorites because these are basically breakfast entrees. The “Comforts” menu includes an American Breakfast (Scrambled Eggs, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Breakfast Sausage, House Fries and Biscuit), Sticky Toffee Pudding Pancakes (Pecans, Whipped Cream, Bacon and Sausage), Biscuits & Gravy (Country Gravy, Chicken Cracklings and House Baked Biscuit) and a Loaded House Fries with Egg (BBQ Brisket, Pimento Cheese Sauce, Pickles and Pickled Red Onion). Roasted Summer Squash (Heirloom Tomato Sauce, Heritage Grains Succotash, Greens and Tofu) is the plant-based entree which is also in the “Comforts” section of the menu.
Kids’ Menu
The Kids’ menu is a Create-Your-Own entree option. First choose either Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Meatballs or a Chicken Skewer. Then choose two of the following: Sausage, Bacon, House Fries, Fresh Fruit or the Seasonal Vegetable. All Kids’ menu entrees include the choice of small DASANI® Water or a small Lowfat Milk.
Drink Menu
River Belle Terrace has several beverage options for Brunch and Dinner. There is a drink menu on every table which lists Wines, Cocktails, Beers and Non-Alcoholic Beverages. Here’s a picture of the restaurant’s drink menu.
My Experience
Those of you who know me, know that I love breakfast food. It is my favorite meal of the day! But, recently I decided to skip breakfast one morning during regular breakfast hours and wait until River Belle Terrace opened at 11am so that I could try out their Brunch menu.
I only planned this experience a few days before, but when I tried to make a dining reservation, the earliest I could get a reservation was 12:10pm. However, since I had skipped breakfast that morning, I decided to cancel my dining reservation shortly after I arrived at Disneyland Park. You can now cancel dining reservations on the same day as long it is at least two hours before the reserved time. Then, I decided that I would try the Walk-Up List and take my chances on getting a table before 12:10pm. So, I used the Disneyland App to “Join Walk-Up List” and waited for an alert on my phone. While I waited, I soaked up a little sun by the Rivers of America since it was a chilly day.
The reservations desk at River Belle Terrace had a long line as soon as the restaurant opened. I don’t know if guests were trying to get dinner reservations or brunch reservations, but using the Disneyland App or Disneyland website is so much easier if you want to skip the line.
It only took about 10 minutes after joining the walk-up list on the Disneyland App to get an alert on my phone that my table was ready even though the restaurant looked really busy. The restaurant has tables both inside and outside and I was hoping for a table outside which is exactly what I got. I was seated almost immediately and given a Brunch menu (see pictures above).
Shortly after being seated and receiving my menu, a waiter showed up to take my drink order. I ordered a Diet Coke which is always my beverage of choice. The waiter asked if I needed time to look over the menu, but I had already decided in advance what I wanted to order which was the American Breakfast entree. The American Breakfast includes Scrambled Eggs, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Breakfast Sausage, House Fries, a Biscuit and Country Gravy. The Country Gravy is not listed on the menu with the American Breakfast but the waiter said the breakfast entree included it and I definitely was not going to pass it up.
The American Breakfast was really filling and it was definitely comforting. The biscuit is not exactly attractive looking as you can see in the pictures above but it tastes great, especially with the Country Gravy. And I loved the House Fries. They reminded me of the Filmstrip Fries that are served at Award Wieners at DCA but with extra spices. The bacon was thick and crispy and the sausage was juicy and cooked to perfection. The eggs were a little bland, but aren’t eggs always bland? The breakfast is priced at $16.00 which is a really good price in my opinion for a Disneyland table service dining location.
My Review
Overall, I would definitely recommend the American Breakfast at River Belle Terrace for Brunch. While I didn’t order the Sticky Toffee Pudding Pancakes or the Biscuits & Gravy (the entree), I did see both entrees in person and they were both very generous portion sizes and looked delicious.
My review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Atmosphere
The atmosphere at River Belle Terrace is so nice and relaxing. The restaurant is located in Frontierland at Disneyland Park across from the Rivers of America. So, while dining, you can enjoy watching guests as they walk by or watch the Mark Twain or Sailing Ship Columbia as they sail down the river.
Final Thoughts
So, if you are craving some down-home cooking or comfort food, River Belle Terrace is the dining option for you during your next visit to Disneyland Park. It is always best to try and make dining reservations in advance if you are able to plan your trip, but I have also had a lot of luck with joining the “Walk-Up List” at a few Disneyland Resort table service restaurants – even on extremely busy days. Of course, a lot of the wait time at table service restaurants depends on your party size. So, if you have a large party, then reservations are a must because joining the “Walk-Up List” might take a while to get a table, if it is even possible at all. But if your party is small, joining the “Walk-Up List” might work out.
River Belle Terrace is open for Brunch from 11am to 3:55pm PT daily. Then from 4pm to 8pm, the restaurant serves Dinner. Prices are reasonably priced for a Disneyland Park table service restaurant ranging from $15 to $19 for “Comforts” and $23 to $24 for Sandwiches on the Brunch menu. Dinner prices range from $14 to $29 per entree.
