One of my favorite restaurants at Disneyland Park is Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante. I love Mexican food and Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante has several menu items that I rotate between including the Cheese Enchiladas with Red Sauce, Burrito Sonora with Chicken and Tostada Salad with Chicken.
However, the other day, I was at Disneyland Park and only wanted a salad to eat. I crave salads from time to time and I wanted to try one that I had not tried before. Most Disneyland Resort restaurants have at least one salad on their menu and I have a few favorites that I will cover at another time. I started scrolling through a few menus on the Disneyland App looking at salads that I had not tried before but couldn’t really find anything that I wanted at the time. So, I had decided that I was just going to eat at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante and order the Tostada Salad with Chicken that I had ordered before even though it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. But, when I walked into the restaurant and was picking up my tray, I looked at the menu board behind the trays and saw the Mexican Chicken Caesar Salad. I love Caesar salad and had never tried this salad before so I instantly decided to try it. It was the salad that I was craving, or at least I thought so when I saw it on the menu board.
Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante’s Mexican Chicken Caesar Salad includes Grilled Chicken, lettuce, house-made Caesar dressing, pepitas, cotija cheese and tortilla strips.
I am not a vegetarian but besides breakfast meats, I am not a big meat eater. So for me, the salad came with too much chicken but for the average person, it is probably a good portion.
Overall, the salad was very good but not very filling. And yes, it is a salad but some salads are very filling. The lettuce and chicken are pre-made and refrigerated. When I placed my order, the cast member retrieved a pre-made plate from the refrigerator and added the Caesar dressing, pepitas, cotija cheese and tortilla strips. I’m not a fan of cold chicken, even on salads, so that was disappointing but everything else on the salad was really good. So, overall the tasted was good but it really didn’t satisfy my craving.
The Mexican Chicken Caesar Salad at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante is $11.99 and is available for Lunch and Dinner. It was not the best salad that I have ever eaten and definitely not my favorite at the Disneyland Resort, but I wouldn’t rule out ordering it again now that I know what to expect.
For my review, I am only giving the salad 3 stars out of 5 because I didn’t like the cold chicken and the salad wasn’t very filling. There are a few other salads at Disneyland Resort that are much more filling and taste so much better. However, because the Mexican Chicken Caesar Salad wasn’t very filling, I ate a churro afterwards that did satisfy my craving and it left a much better taste in my mouth. LOL!
