The sea is calling and the quest will continue this December when Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians begins streaming on Disney+. A second season for the popular Disney+ series was confirmed in August 2024 during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, only about a week after the start of production.

The second season will follow the events of “The Sea of Monsters,” the second book of Rick Riordan’s best-selling “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series, published by Disney Hyperion. The second season of the series will see Percy Jackson and his friends face new challenges and adventures.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri will all return in season 2 as Percy, Annabeth and Grover. Charlie Bushnell will return as Hermes’ son Luke along with Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, the daughter of Ares.

Daniel Diemer will join the cast in the second season as Tyson, Percy’s Cyclops half-brother. Disney has also cast Courtney B. Vance as Zeus, the god of sky, thunder and lightning. Vance will take over the role of Zeus after Lance Reddick who played the character in season 1 suddenly died last year.

Disney has also cast the Gray Sisters, three sisters who operate an Olympian taxi service in the Greater New York City area. The three sisters will join the cast during season 2 of the series portrayed by Sandra Bernhard as Anger, Kristen Schaal as Tempest and Margaret Cho as Wasp.

Annabeth will also meet her mother Athena, goddess of wisdom, in season 2. Athena will be portrayed by Andra Day.
