One of my favorite Disney Resorts to stay at when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort is Port Orleans French Quarter. It is a quaint resort hotel along the Sassagoula River with beautiful views and themed to the streets of New Orleans.

Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter is one of the smallest, if not the smallest, moderate hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort with cobblestone streets, wrought-iron balconies and fragrant magnolia trees. When you stay at this resort, you are instantly transported to New Orleans with the sounds of jazz playing around the resort. The resort is so relaxing with quiet strolls along the Sassagoula River and water taxi transportation to Disney Springs. It is only a short walk to Port Orleans Riverside where you can enjoy even more southern comforts with more dining options, recreation, a merchandise shop and more. And, when you walk into your guest room, you are greeted by iconic purple, gold and green beads in the shape of Mickey Mouse on the table.

Newly Refurbished Guest Rooms

Now, the guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter have been completely refurbished with new decor, fixtures, furniture and more. The next time you stay at the resort, you will find new portraits in your room featuring characters from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog including Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis and Charlotte La Bouff. You also might find Tiana’s sparkling tiara, drums and trumpets in the mosaic pattern above the beds.

The refurbished guest bathrooms offer plenty of storage options and spacious counters along with new fixtures. The furniture around the room features new colors giving the rooms more of a New Orleans style.

In addition to the guest room refurbishments, the Doubloon Lagoon pool area and Mardi Grogs pool bar have been newly refurbished. The area now features a brighter, more upscale look with airy blues, black-and-white tiles and wrought iron details.

If you have never stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter resort hotel, now is the time to try out the resort with it’s newly refurbished guest rooms. After you arrive and experience the relaxing atmosphere of the resort, you’ll be glad you decided to experience this New Orleans themed hotel.
