The ocean is calling and Moana 2 will sail into theaters on November 27, 2024.
Walt Disney Animated Studios has released a new movie poster for the upcoming sequel to the 2016 animated movie Moana. The new Moana 2 movie poster features Moana, Maui, Hei Hei Pua and Kakamora sailing in the ocean on a wayfinder boat.
Moana 2 takes place three years after the original Disney animated film. In the sequel, Moana receives an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors and must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced. Maui joins Moana on the journey and along the way, they run into the Kakamora again and are faced with a new battle.
Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson return as the voices of Moana and demigod Maui in Walt Disney Animated Studios’ all new animated film. The trailer features Moana, Maui, Hei Hei, Pua, Moana’s parents, her younger sister, the Kakamora and the residents of the island of Motunui.
Moana 2 is directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller. The film is produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino. Moana 2 features all new music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
