The Mandalorian New Millennium Falcon Mission

During The Future of World-Building at Disney panel presentation at South by Southwest (SXSW), The Mandalorian creator and Disney Legend Jon Favreau was joined onstage by Walt Disney Imagineers Leslie Evans and Asa Kalama to talk about new adventures coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. First announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, a new mission featuring Mando and Grogu is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction that will debut next year on the same day that the new Star Wars movie The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters which is May 22, 2026.

SXSW Millennium Falcon Update with The Mandalorian at Death Star Destruction

Working alongside The Mandalorian team, the Walt Disney Imagineers captured scenes for the popular Star Wars attraction on the movie set that fans will recognize including a trip to Cloud City and to the second Death Star destruction above the planet Endor.

In addition to the new adventure coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, the team announced that the BDX droids that have been seen on Batuu at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California will be making their film debut in the new The Mandalorian and Grogu film. And that’s not all! The droids will also be going on their own adventure by visiting Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. A date for the droids visit to other Disney Parks around the world was not announced but will most likely be around the movie premiere and the new Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run adventure on May 22, 2026.
