We are only about 2 months away from the “Happiest Celebration on Earth”—the 70th Anniversary of the Disneyland Resort. The celebration kicks off on May 16, 2025 and will run through summer 2026. The theme for the 70th Anniversary is “Celebrate Happy” and new details about the milestone event are now available.

Paint the Night Parade
This fan-favorite nighttime parade will return to Disneyland Park for the 70th anniversary celebration. Guests will awe in amazement at the stunning lights and color as this grand parade makes it way down Main Street, U.S.A.
The Paint the Night parade features innovative floats, vibrant costumes, incredible special effects, unforgettable music and energetic performances. The floats feature Mickey Mouse along with characters from Monsters, Inc., Cars, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and more. During the parades previous run at Disney California Adventure Park in 2018, the parade also included a float promoting the release of Disney-Pixar Incredibles 2. And when the parade first premiered at Disneyland Park for the 60th Anniversary, the parade included a Frozen float which was removed from the parade while at Disney California Adventure Park. But for the parades return to Disneyland Park, Anna and Elsa will rejoin the parade on their fan-favorite float inspired by Disney Animation’s Frozen.

Wondrous Journeys
The beloved nighttime spectacular, Wondrous Journeys returns to Disneyland Park to celebrate seven decades of Happy. At night, Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America light up with state-of-the-art projection effects and music from Walt Disney Animation Studios classic films. On most nights throughout the summer, the nighttime spectacular will also include fireworks.
Wondrous Journeys will temporarily pause in August 2025 for Halloween and Holiday entertainment but will resume at a later time.
The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade
Previously announced as Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy!, Disneyland Park will debut a new character cavalcade called The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade. The cavalcade will make its way along the parade route encouraging guests to dance and clap along. Mickey Mouse and his friends from your favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios classic films will celebrate seven decades of the Disneyland Resort dressed in their 70th attire during this daily cavalcade.

“it’s a small world” Projection Show
To celebrate seven decades of the Disneyland Resort, “it’s a small world” facade will feature an all-new projection show called Tapestry of Happiness. Inspired by the work of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair, the projection show will create an animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, moments and memories on the attractions facade. The show will feature the original 70th celebration theme song “Celebrate Happy,” along with nods to recognizable Disneyland tunes from across the decades.
“Tapestry of Happiness” will be a visual love letter to Disneyland, bringing all of us together through memories of The Happiest Place on Earth. It will remind us that no matter how old we are or where we call home, we all come together in this magical place through the eyes of our inner child, finding happiness in a unique and personal way.

World of Color Happiness!
An all-new World of Color show will debut at Disney California Adventure Park for Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary celebration. Hosted by Joy and other Emotions from Pixar Animation Studios Inside Out and Inside Out 2, Paradise Bay will transform with magnificent fountains, colorful lasers and other colorful effects to feature music and moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films including Turning Red, A Goofy Movie, Encanto, The Lion King and so many more.
In addition to featuring classic Disney songs and other iconic favorites, Boyz II Men will lend their legendary R&B vocals in a rendition of “Rainbow Connection,” and FITZ — frontman and namesake of multi-platinum hitmakers Fitz and the Tantrums — will debut a new original song just for World of Color titled “Makes Me Wanna Move.”
By journey’s end, you’ll discover that happiness is made up of many different emotional colors, and Disneyland Resort is the magical place at the end of the rainbow where all those colors come together.
But that’s not all … the fun starts even before World of Color begins with a special message from some familiar faces. With the guidance of Joe the Legal Weasel, more than a dozen of The Muppets will deliver their message through vivid projections and expressive fountains ahead of the show.

Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade
As part of the celebration, Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade will return to Disney California Adventure Park. The parade premiered during Pixar Fest this past Spring and Summer and quickly became a fan-favorite. The parade is filled with incredible music, dynamic floats and all of your favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios films including Inside Out, Luca, Soul, Turning Red and more.
The parade will temporarily pause in August 2025 for Halloween and Holiday entertainment but will resume at a later time.
Carthay Circle Restaurant
In the evenings at Disney California Adventure Park, the exterior of Carthay Circle Restaurant will “celebrate happy” with a special moment filled with music, lights and projection effects.

New Magic on Toy Story Midway Mania!
During the 70th anniversary celebration, watch for new magic on Toy Story Midway Mania! at Disney California Adventure Park. While playing the carnival-inspired games during the attraction, you just might see a few nods to the 70th as you compete for the highest score.

70th Anniversary Décor
The entire Disneyland Resort will be adorned with colorful décor celebrating the 70th anniversary. Part of the décor for the celebration will include an elegant medallion on Sleeping Beauty Castle.

But one of the most exciting decorations around the resort may be a 50-foot sculpture inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle in the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The contemporary sculpture will have colorful glass panels and golden charms representing the five original lands at Disneyland Park.

Then, when you step through the gates of Disneyland Park, a floral Mickey will welcome you to the celebration with a display of vibrant flowers along with a “70 Celebrate Happy” medallion. Multi-colored banners and buntings will decorate Main Street, U.S.A. and Town Square with an installation featuring Mickey and Minnie in the center of Town Square.

Plus, an upbeat new theme song titled “Celebrate Happy”, created to honor the anniversary, will be heard all around the resort during the 70th celebration.

New Character Costumes
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and all of their pals will greet guests in Town Square and along Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park wearing new costumes designed especially for the 70th Anniversary celebration.
