Welcome, foolish mortals. The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland reopened on Saturday, January 18, 2025 with a new bride and other enhancements throughout the attraction. The attraction had been closed to transition from Haunted Mansion Holiday to the regular Haunted Mansion attraction which hasn’t been seen for over a year. During most of 2024, the attraction was closed for a very long refurbishment and was only open as Haunted Mansion Holiday before and after the refurbishment in 2024. Plus in late November 2024, the expanded queue and grounds opened with beautiful fountains, decorative plants and more.
When entering the mansions grounds, you may notice a familiar Spanish fountain that once sat in the middle of Magnolia Park.
Then along the new garden wall is a fountain with the face of a sea maiden with unruly hair and startled eyes, as if she’s caught in a storm.
Inside an old, wrought iron gazebo sits a bench and a well-read book that has been left behind by one of the mansion’s inhabitants, Master Gracey. It’s the perfect place for Master Gracey to rest and ponder his past.
Then, inside the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, you will notice a new bride in the attic scene of the attraction.
The Mansion Caretaker looks the same but we haven’t seen him in over a year so I wanted to include a picture of him too.
And, beware of hitchhiking ghosts! Supposably the hitchhiking ghosts were enhanced when they appear in the ride vehicle with you at the end of the attraction but I really didn’t notice a difference.
New Haunted Mansion Merchandise Shop
As you exit the Haunted Mansion, an all-new merchandise shop awaits that opened just before the end of 2024. Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond is a carriage house that used to store the same ornate carriage that now remains on the mansion’s front yard. At one point, the carriage house was home to the mansion’s head caretaker, but later Madame Leota took up residence. It is filled with her eclectic furniture including a crystal ball, feinting couch and the original parlor chandelier that Leota used in séances at the mansion.
When the first floor of the carriage house became a shop, Madame Leota kindly lent her desks, cabinets and chests as antique artifacts to be showcased along with the merchandise. As a powerful medium moving between worlds, Madame Leota comes and goes a lot and is excited to welcome guests to her home, soon.
The merchandise in the shop is themed to the Haunted Mansion and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The shop includes apparel, accessories, collectibles, home decor and more. In my opinion, the new shop makes a perfect addition to the mansion.
