For the second weekend in a row, Mufasa: The Lion King took the number 2 spot on the domestic box office charts. For the weekend December 27 through December 29, the film grossed $37 million bringing its total gross to date to $128 million.

The Walt Disney Company also has a second movie on the domestic box office charts. Moana 2 arrived in theaters on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 and became the highest-grossing film of all time opening over a 5-day Thanksgiving weekend.
For the weekend December 27 through December 29, Moana 2 grossed $19 million bringing its total gross to date to $404 million. The film took the number 5 spot on the domestic box office charts after 5 weeks in theaters. The film took the number 4 spot on the domestic box office charts for the previous weekend ending December 22.
