Monsters, Inc. Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

A brand-new land themed around Pixar Animation Studios’ Monsters, Inc. is coming to life at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. The news was shared by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro during Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

In the new Monsters, Inc. Land, guests will be able to stroll down the streets of Monstropolis and meet some of their favorite characters from the Disney-Pixar film. The monsters that live in Monstropolis need laughter to power their city so they’ll be counting on guests visiting the new land to give them a lot of laughs. And what better way to get screams and laughs but from a new coaster style attraction. Guests will be able to ride through the Monsters, Inc. factory just like the doors in the film on the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park.

Claws will grab guests and hoist them up in the air just like they grab the doors in the movie. And you are sure to see Mike & Sulley as you tour the factory in Monstropolis. And maybe Roz too!

Work on the Monsters, Inc. Land is scheduled to begin next year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. A tentative completion and opening date or physical location of the new land has not been announced yet.
