Overview of Mobile Ordering

Mobile ordering at the Disneyland Resort allows guests to skip lines at a variety of dining location and order meals quickly. Using the Disneyland app, you can order a meal, snack and/or beverage from a variety of quick-service restaurants at both Disneyland theme parks, Downtown Disney District and Disneyland Resort hotels.

The system is very similar to non-Disney fast-food locations like McDonald’s and Wendy’s. And just like those locations, Disneyland and other Disney Parks around the world are using an app to try and make your life easier even though that is not always the case. If you are tech savvy, mobile ordering is probably not a problem for you. But for those who are not tech savvy or unfamiliar with using apps to place an order, a little guidance can be helpful. In this blog post, I hope to do just that — provide you with a few tips and guidance to make your mobile ordering experience at the Disneyland Resort just as magical as your theme park experience while saving you time and frustration during your visit.

Disneyland App Mobile Order

How to Use the Mobile Ordering

To use mobile ordering at the Disneyland Resort:

  1. Download the Disneyland app and sign in to your Disney account or create a new account.
  2. Tap the “Order Now” option on the home screen or select “Order Food” on main menu page by using the 3-line hamburger menu in the bottom right corner of the app.
  3. Select a quick-service location that offers mobile ordering and a preferred arrival window.
  4. Browse the menu and add items to your cart.
  5. Proceed to the checkout page and pay using a credit/debit card or Disney Gift Card.
  6. When it’s time to pick up your order, you will receive a notification on your phone.
  7. Go to the dining location and check in via the app to prompt the location to prepare your order. You can go ahead and find a table while the location is preparing your order.
  8. Once your order is ready, you will receive a notification on your phone letting you know that your order is ready for pick-up and which pick-up window to go to.

Tips for a smooth experience

  • Keep your Disneyland app updated
  • Plan meals in advance during peak periods and order your food in advance for your desired dining time.
    • Note: You can place your order in the morning, even before you arrive at the park, for your preferred dining time. You can also change your desired pick-up time to a different timeframe as long as it is before your initially selected arrival window.
  • Use “Available Now” filters on the app for dining options available for immediate pick-up.
  • Ensure your device is charged because you will need it to be notified when your order is ready for pick-up.

If you encounter issues with the app, restart the app or seek assistance from a Disneyland cast member at the dining location.

Benefits

  • Saves time by bypassing long lines to place an order
  • Allows flexible meal planning around park activities
  • Provides easy access to allergy-friendly options
  • Reduces stress during peak dining hours
  • Allows guests to modify pick-up times for a previously placed order
  • Guests can also cancel a previously placed order

Limitations

  • Reliance on smartphone battery life and park connectivity
  • Limited menu customization options
  • Some seasonal or specialty items may not be listed in the app
  • Complex dietary modifications may require in-person ordering
  • Cash payments are not accepted, requires a credit/debit card or Disney Gift Card for payment
  • Not all dining locations offer mobile ordering

To sum things up, as long as you are aware of its limitations, using the Disneyland app for mobile ordering can enhance your theme park experience by saving you time and offering you flexible dining options. Understanding how the app works, which locations offer mobile ordering and utilizing the app to make the most of your visit can help make your next Disneyland Resort visit even more magical that ever before.
