Limited Time Tron: Ares Ride Overlay Coming to TRON Lightcycle / Run

TRON Lightcycle / Run at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort and at Shanghai Disney Resort are both getting a new overlay celebrating the release of the all-new Tron: Ares film. Guests at the Magic Kingdom can experience the new Tron: Ares ride overlay for a limited time at the Magic Kingdom starting September 15 and at Shanghai Disneyland starting September 16.

The overlay will replace the blue and orange hues of the ride with red and orange lights. And as you weave through the twisting tunnels racing through the grid, the sounds of Nine Inch Nails will add to the energy of the attraction including their first track from the new film, “As Alive as You Need Me to Be.”

TRON: Ares Coming Soon to Theaters

TRON: Ares, the third film installment in the TRON franchise, opens in theaters on October 10, 2025. The all-new feature film stars Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson.

Grammy-award winning rock band Nine Inch Nails composed the score for Tron: Ares and the first track from the film “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” is featured in the movies official trailer which you can watch below.

The film is directed by Joachim Rønning. Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook, and Steven Lisberger are the producers, with Russell Allen serving as executive producer.
