A new and convenient way to save time in line is coming soon to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. The new Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available as a pilot program starting October 30, 2024 with very limited quantities available for guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and other select hotels. Lightning Lane Premier Pass will allow one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction in a Walt Disney World theme park to enjoy at your leisure on the day of your park visit.
How It Works
- Get one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction for one day including top attractions available with Lightning Lane Single Pass. The Lightning Lane Premier Pass provides one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction queue at one Walt Disney World theme park for the day of your visit.
- Ride the Lightning Lane attractions you want, when you want. You don’t need to choose a specific arrival time. However, the pass only includes one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience on the day of your park visit. So, if you want to experience an attraction more than once that day, you will need to use the standby line or make a separate Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass purchase.
- Enjoy photo perks. Enjoy downloads of select attraction photos and videos from your day. Plus, unlock Disney PhotoPass Lenses.
How to Purchase
Beginning October 30, 2024, open the My Disney Experience app and search for “Lightning Lane Premier Pass” to begin purchasing the pass. Tap “Purchase” to get started and follow the prompts to complete your purchase. You will receive a confirmation once your purchase has been completed.
Price
Lightning Lane Premier Pass will vary in price from $129 to $449 based on the date and theme park you are visiting. Here are the price ranges by theme park for Lightning Lane Premier Pass:

- EPCOT: $169 – $249 plus tax

Compare the Lightning Lane Passes
Starting October 30, 2024, the Walt Disney World Resort will offer three different Lightning Lane passes – Lightning Lane Premier Pass, Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. All three passes allow you to skip the standby line and use the Lightning Lane entrance to join a shorter line for the available theme park attractions.
The Differences
The difference between the passes are:
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass includes more attractions with the flexibility to experience each attraction when you want. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to experience more attractions in one day purchasing the Lightning Lane Premier Pass vs purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass because you are required to choose an arrival window which limits the amount of attractions you can use these passes for.
- The price of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is pretty steep compared to purchasing both the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. At launch, the price of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will range from $129 to $449 with the highest prices falling on a limited number of days over peak travel periods. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is only $15-25 depending on the theme park. And Lightning Lane Single Pass is approximately $10-25 for each attraction (price varies per day based on demand). So, you can purchase both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass for approximately $45-$50 (using the highest price for each) which is much less expensive than purchasing Lightning Lane Premier Pass.
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass can be purchased up to 7 days in advance of your park visit but will be limited to guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and other select hotels at rollout. Lightning Lane Multi Pass can be purchased at the time of your park ticket purchase as an add-on or after you enter a theme park on the day of your visit. And Lightning Lane Single Pass can only be purchased via the My Disney Experience app after entering a theme park on the day of your visit.
Options
Overall, Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows you to experience more theme park attractions when you want throughout the day of your visit. However, this convenience comes with a hefty price of $129 to $449. And while the convenience is nice, the total cost could really add up for a family of 4 – not to mention that it is already expensive for just one person. And honestly, most guests can experience almost every attraction they wish to in a one day visit to one park by using the standby line with no additional cost. Yes, that requires waiting in line with some attraction standby lines may be longer than others, but with a little planning and patience, you could still visit the majority of the theme park’s attractions without paying an additional fee over in addition to the price of your theme park admission.
Another option is to plan multiple days at each theme park – or at least the theme parks that you want to experience the most attractions at. You can purchase an 8-Day Multi-Day One-Park per day ticket (without adding the Park Hopper benefit) for around $700 per person which is still less expensive than purchasing a 1-Day Ticket with the Park Hopper benefit and adding Lightning Lane Premier Pass for a total one day cost of $703 (calculation is based on a Park Hopper Ticket at $254 plus $449 for Lightning Lane Premier Pass at the Magic Kingdom).
Conclusion
If you are looking for convenience and can afford the hefty price of Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you might enjoy being able to zoom through a Walt Disney World Resort theme park and experience most every attraction in one day without waiting in long lines. But if you are wanting to visit the Walt Disney World Resort and not drain your bank account to do so, you might want to compare the prices of the Multi-Pass options and spend a little time planning your visit to save money.
