A new and convenient way to save time in line is coming soon to the Disneyland Resort theme parks. The new Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available starting October 23, 2024 with very limited quantities available. Lightning Lane Premier Pass will allow one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction in both of the Disneyland Resort theme parks to enjoy at your leisure on the day of your park visit.
How It Works
- Get one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction for one day including top attractions available with Lightning Lane Single Pass. The Lightning Lane Premier Pass provides one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction queue at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park for the day of your visit as long as your park admission includes the Park Hopper benefit. If not and your park admission is one-park ticket, then your Lightning Lane Premier Pass can only be used in the one theme park you are visiting. But keep in mind that the price of a Lightning Lane Premier Pass does not vary based on the number of theme parks you are visiting that day.
- Ride the Lightning Lane attractions you want, when you want. You don’t need to choose a specific arrival time. However, the pass only includes one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience on the day of your park visit. So, if you want to experience an attraction more than once that day, you will need to use the standby line or make a separate Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass purchase.
- Enjoy photo perks. Get unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos from your day. Plus, unlock Disney PhotoPass Lenses.
How to Purchase
Beginning October 23, 2024, open the Disneyland app and search for “Lightning Lane Premier Pass” to begin purchasing the pass. Tap “Purchase” to get started and follow the prompts to complete your purchase. You will receive a confirmation once your purchase has been completed.
Price
Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be priced at $400 per person, per day for park visits through December 31, 2024. Beginning in 2025, pricing will vary by date and demand within a $300 to $400 range.
Prices will be displayed in the Disneyland app up to 2 days in advance of your park visit. Purchasing is subject to very limited availability.

Compare the Lightning Lane Passes
Starting October 23, 2024, the Disneyland Resort will offer three different Lightning Lane passes – Lightning Lane Premier Pass, Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. All three passes allow you to skip the standby line and use the Lightning Lane entrance to join a shorter line for the available theme park attractions.
The Differences
The difference between the passes are:
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass includes more attractions with the flexibility to experience each attraction when you want. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to experience more attractions in one day purchasing the Lightning Lane Premier Pass vs purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass because you are required to choose an arrival window which limits the amount of attractions you can use these passes for.
- The price of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is pretty steep compared to purchasing both the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. Through the end of 2024, the price of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is $400 while the price of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchased before your park arrival is only $32. If you also purchased Lightning Lane Single Pass for both Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers for approximately $15-25 each (price varies per day based on demand), your total purchase price would be $82 (using the highest price for the Single Pass).
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass can be purchased up to 2 days in advance of your park visit. Lightning Lane Multi Pass can be purchased at the time of your park ticket purchase as an add-on or after you enter a theme park on the day of your visit. And Lightning Lane Single Pass can only be purchased via the Disneyland app after entering a theme park on the day of your visit.
Options
Overall, Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows you to experience 23 Disneyland Resort theme park attractions when you want throughout the day of your visit. However, this convenience comes with a hefty price of $400. And while the convenience is nice, the total cost could really add up for a family of 4 – not to mention that it is already expensive for just one person. And honestly, most guests can experience almost every attraction they wish to in a one day visit to one park by using the standby line with no additional cost. Yes, that requires waiting in line with some attraction standby lines may be longer than others, but with a little planning and patience, you could still visit the majority of the theme park’s attractions without paying an additional fee over in addition to the price of your theme park admission.
Another option is to plan two days at each Disneyland Resort theme park. You can purchase a 4-Day Multi-Day One-Park per day ticket (without adding the Park Hopper benefit) for $474 per person which is still less expensive than purchasing a 1-Day Ticket with the Park Hopper benefit and adding Lightning Lane Premier Pass for a total one day cost of $569 (calculation is based on a Tier 0 Park Hopper ticket currently priced at $169).
Conclusion
If you are looking for convenience and can afford the hefty price of Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you might enjoy being able to zoom through both Disneyland Resort theme parks and experience 23 attractions in one day without waiting in long lines. But if you are wanting to visit the Disneyland Resort and not drain your bank account to do so, you might want to compare the prices of the Multi-Pass options and spend a little time planning your visit to save money.
