Review the Latest Refurbishment Calendar for the Walt Disney World Resort
Planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort? Before you go, check the Walt Disney World Resort refurbishment calendar to make sure your favorite attractions, food & beverage locations and merchandise shops will be open during your visit. This is the July 2025 Week 3 update for the Walt Disney World Resort.

Magic Kingdom
The following attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops are currently closed for refurbishment at Magic Kingdom Park:
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – January 6, 2025 – TBD
Upcoming Refurbishments at Magic Kingdom Park:
- Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid – July 21, 2025 – July 25, 2025
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – August 4, 2025 – TBD 2026

The Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island have officially closed to make way for a new Cars themed land with an off-road attraction in the reimagined area of Frontierland that will be name Piston Peak National Park.

EPCOT
The following attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops are currently closed for refurbishment at EPCOT:
- Test Track & Test Track Gear Shop – June 17, 2024 – July 21, 2025
- Learn more about Test Track Presented by General Motors opening next week on July 22, 2025.
Upcoming Refurbishments at EPCOT:
- Spaceship Earth – August 25, 2025 – TBD
- Project Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future – August 25, 2025 – TBD

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Currently, no attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops are currently closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- Grand Avenue – While this isn’t a refurbishment, the Muppets have moved from Grand Avenue to make way for the Monster, Inc. crew to move in. All of The Muppets locations on Grand Avenue have already closed, but Kermit, Miss Piggy and all of their Muppet friends are moving to Sunset Blvd. to take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. The Muppets locations on Grand Avenue closed on:
- Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – Closed May 11, 2025
- Muppet*Vision 3D – Closed June 8, 2025
- PizzeRizzo – Closed June 8, 2025

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Currently, no attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops are currently closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – It’s Tough to Be a Bug! closed on March 16, 2025 to be replaced with a new show, titled Zootopia: Better Zoogether! coming winter 2025.
- DinoLand U.S.A. – DinoLand U.S.A. will soon become extinct at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While this isn’t a refurbishment, DINOSAUR will close sometime in 2026 to make way for the new Tropical Americas themed land with a projected 2027 opening date.
Disney Springs
The following food & beverage locations are currently under construction and taking over a previously closed location at Downtown Disney District:
- STARBUCKS® at Disney Springs West Side – March 3, 2025 – TBD
To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Walt Disney World Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.
