Summary
“it’s a small world” is closed for a two month refurbishment and to be converted to “it’s a small world” Holiday. During the refurbishment, “it’s a small world” Toy Shop is also being refurbished but will reopen October 19, 2024, a little less than a month before the attraction reopens.
There’s still no official reopening date for the reimagined Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. I had assumed it would reopen on November 15, 2024 along with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but then I heard a rumor this week from a Disneyland Cast Member that the quick-service location will not reopen until after the holidays. That rumor has not been confirmed. The dining location is still listed on the Disneyland refurbishment calendar as of the November 16, 2024 (which is as far out as the refurbishment calendar goes) so it will still be closed after Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens.
The Churros cart near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will reopen tomorrow, leaving only World of Color – ONE on Disney California Adventure Parks refurbishment calendar. World of Color – ONE is scheduled to begin performances again starting Friday, October 25, 2024.
And, a surprise merchandise location has been added to the refurbishment calendar with no reopening date announced at this time. The LEGO Store in Downtown Disney District will close on Monday, October 7, 2024 with no other information available at this time. This is one of the most popular stores in the district so it is a huge surprise to see it on the refurbishment calendar so close to the holidays. However, just a few days ago, I noticed just how dirty and dated the huge LEGO figures in front of the location looked so this may be a temporary closure – and not a permanent closure. Hopefully, the Disneyland Resort will provide an update on the refurbishment this coming week.
The LEGO Store was one of the original retail locations when Downtown Disney District opened in 2001. The store has closed before for refurbishement so hopefully this is just a normal refurbishment. The Disneyland refurbishment calendar currently only shows information through November 16, 2024 so it is possible that The LEGO Store could reopen before Thanksgiving. Keep checking back for updates.
To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.
Check back every week for an updated list of closures at the Disneyland Resort.
