Summary
At Disneyland Park, “it’s a small world” reopens today with new magic after being closed since January for a lengthy refurbishment. Starting today, guests can experience the attraction with Miguel and Dante in the Mexico section of the attraction.

Even though Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration kicks off this Friday, May 16, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room are both closed for refurbishment with no reopening date listed on the refurbishment calendar at this time. Also, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster is scheduled to close for refurbishment next week for about a three week refurbishment.

After previously having a reopening date of June 1, 2025, Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow is back on the refurbishment calendar with no reopening date at this time. This small area has been closed for refurbishment since September 16, 2024 and has constantly been delayed from reopening for several months now. I’m not sure why this area keeps getting pushed back because I doubt a refurbishment is actually taking this long. There must be another reason for the very long closure but at this time we do not have a reopening date for the meet & greet area.

At Disney California Adventure Park, the refurbishment for Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome and Sorcerer’s Workshop in the Animation Academy have both been extended for a few days and will now reopen this Friday, May 16.
The Hyperion Theater has been closed since August 2023. The queue area is used for special events and as an expanded guest dining area. At this time, no announcements have been made for the unused Hyperion Theater or its large queue area. There is some speculation that an announcement for the theater and Hollywood Land will be coming soon but this has been a rumor for several weeks now with no announcement yet.
To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.
Check back every week for an updated list of closures at the Disneyland Resort.
