Review the Latest Refurbishment Calendar for the Disneyland Resort

Planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort? Before you go, check the Disneyland Resort refurbishment calendar to make sure your favorite attractions, food & beverage locations and merchandise shops will be open during your visit. This is the January 2025 Week 2 edition for the Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland Park

The following attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops are currently closed for refurbishment at Disneyland Park:

  • The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln – April 16, 2024 – May 15, 2025
    • The theater is currently being updated with a new show titled Walt Disney – A Magical Life that will open on May 16, 2025 as part of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary. The show will rotate with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln throughout the year.
  • Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow – September 16, 2024 – TBD
  • Disneyland Monorail – January 6, 2025 – TBD
  • Haunted Mansion – January 7, 2025 – January 17, 2025
  • Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe – January 7, 2025 – TBD
  • Disneyland Railroad – January 13, 2025 – TBD

Upcoming Refurbishments at Disneyland Park:

  • “it’s a small world” – January 21, 2025 – TBD

Disney California Adventure Park

The following attractions, food & beverage locations and/or merchandise shops are currently closed for refurbishment at Disney California Adventure Park:

  • Grizzly River Run – January 6, 2025 – TBD
  • Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind – January 6, 2025 – January 23, 2025

Upcoming Refurbishments at Disney California Adventure Park:

  • Redwood Creek Challenge Trail – February 17, 2025 – TBD
  • Red Car Trolley – February 9, 2025 (permanent closure date)

Downtown Disney District

The following store is currently closed for refurbishment in the Downtown Disney District:

  • Marceline’s Confectionery – Marceline’s Confectionery is temporarily closed for refurbishment. A cart is now available for Guests with an assortment of menu items from this shop. The shop is being reimagined into the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets shop which will replace Marceline’s Confectionery when the reimagined shop opens.

Summary

Several attractions are currently closed for refurbishment at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. At Disneyland Park, the Disneyland Monorail, Disneyland Railroad, Haunted Mansion and Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe are closed. At Disney California Adventure Park, Grizzly River Run and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind are closed for refurbishment.

Know Before You Go The Disneyland Resort Edition - Disneyland Monorail - 01.12.2025

Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow reopening date is still TBD. The refurbishment has been pushed out several times and the area has been closed for refurbishment since September 16, 2024.

The Disneyland Railroad closed today and will remain closed until around May 16, 2025. This closure is to continue the track replacement around the park.

The last day for guests to enjoy riding the Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure Park is February 8, 2025. The attraction will close permanently the next day to begin construction on the expansion of Avengers Campus. Rumors state that one of the Red Car Trolley cars will remain parked for photo opportunities. Also, it is possible that the attraction could return in the future but probably not for a while.

In Downtown Disney District, the new Parkside Market opened last week with four new dining options under one roof. The dining locations which are operated by Levy Restaurants include Seoul Sister, Sip & Sonder, GG’s Chicken Shop and a Vista Parkside Market. Parkside Market

Disney Wonderful World of Sweets which is replacing Marceline’s Confectionery looks ready to open at Downtown Disney District. I wouldn’t be surprised if it opens this coming week.

To maintain the look, cleanliness, safety and equipment, the Disneyland Resort regularly closes attractions to refurbish them for future guest enjoyment. Also, some attractions may close to be rethemed with a new and exciting story.
