Even though Critter Country at Disneyland Park won’t officially be renamed to Bayou Country until November 15, 2024, the land is beginning to look a lot like Bayou Country with new signs, reimagined merchandise shops, Country Bears and more popping up in every corner of the land.
Bayou Country (currently named Critter Country until November 15) is situated on the edge of New Orleans Square with shady trees, mesmerizing music and a vast collection of enchanting critters.
Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree
On Friday, October 25, the only quick-service restaurant in the land reopened with a new name, new menu and new ownership. The Country Bears have taken over the restaurant along the Rivers of America and reimagined the menu with new barbecue dishes that they discovered on their recent world tour. Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree now serves smoked barbecue, a barbecue pulled pork sandwich, a smoked beef brisket sandwich and so much more. And while dining on these all-new dishes, you can listen to the foot stompin’ hits from the Country Bears’ latest tour.
Ray’s Berets
In addition to a reimagined restaurant, a reimagined merchandise shop has reopened too. Ray’s Berets, previously known as the Briar Patch, also reopened last week. The shop has been rethemed to Ray and his firefly kin folks from Disney The Princess and the Frog. The merchandise in the shop didn’t really change but the decor throughout the shop is now filled with pictures featuring Ray and his kin folks, jars that the fireflies use for some quiet time and swamp moss hanging all-around the shop. The merchandise in the shop consists of hats, caps, ear headbands, bubble wands and more.
Other signage indicating a new name for Critter Country have popped up around the land including a “Welcome to Bayou Country” and “Teddi Barra’s Swingin’ Arcade” sign on the building that houses Pooh Corner and the newly reimaged Louis’ Critter Club opening November 13, 2024.
Bayou Country will be home to three attractions — The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. While Tiana’s Bayou Adventure doesn’t officially open until November 15, 2024, the reimagined attraction is currently open for Magic Key holder previews on select days. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes are both open now.
All of the new critters that have moved into the land are looking forward to welcoming guests to Bayou Country on November 15, 2024 when the land is officially renamed and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opens.
