“it’s a small world” at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA has been closed for refurbishment since January 21, 2025 to remove the “it’s a small world” Holiday overlay and to add new magic to the attraction for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration which kicks off on May 16, 2025. The attraction was originally scheduled to reopen on April 25, 2025 with all-new magic but the reopening was delayed to May 8, 2025. Now the reopening of “it’s a small world” has been delayed again for a few more days until next Tuesday, May 13, 2025 so Walt Disney Imagineers can test the attraction and add a few finishing touches.

When “it’s a small world” reopens next week, it will open with new magic in the Mexico themed area of the attraction. Miguel and Dante from Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco are joining the other children and dolls in the attraction, silhouetted by a stunning marigold bridge to make the new addition stand out.

Miguel will be wearing his mariachi outfit that he wore at the end of the Disney-Pixar movie. And his pal Dante will be in alebrije form.
In addition to Miguel & Dante, a third verse of the iconic “it’s a small world” song will be added to the attraction on Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, July 17, 2025. During the celebration, guests will also be able to experience a new three-and-a-half minute film called “The Last Verse” in Main Street Cinema which celebrates the Sherman brothers who wrote the iconic song. Learn more about the new film and read the lyrics to “it’s a small world’s” third verse here.
