Today, Disney Parks Blog introduced us to a few new critters that are coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at both Magic Kingdom park and Disneyland park. These new animatronic critters will be musicians who have formed a band in the new attraction. They will be playing a rendition of “Gonna Take You There” from The Princess and the Frog as guests travel down the bayou. Let’s meet these new musical critters:
First, there’s Byhalia the Beaver who helps build musical instruments using natural materials from the bayou. She is a strong-willed percussionist in the band.
Then, meet Rufus the Turtle. Rufus plays a harmonica in the band.
Next, meet Apollo the Raccoon. Apollo loves transforming abandoned objects into works of musical art. He has made a squeezebox that he plays in the band.
Then, meet Gritty the Rabbit. Gritty plays an automobile license plate like a washboard.
Next, meet Timoléon the Otter. He’s the eldest member of the band, but the best fiddle-player in the bayou.
Lastly, meet Beau the Opossum. Beau plays low notes on her upright gourd bass.
Based on the concept art and the plushies image below, these all look like fun characters, I mean critters, that will be in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
In my opinion, the most exciting news about these new critters is that three of them will be available as huggable plushies for fans to own and take home. Beau the Opossum, Apollo the Raccoon and Rufus the Turtle will be available to purchase soon from Disney merchandise shops.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently scheduled to open at the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World this summer and at Disneyland park sometime later this year.
Are you excited for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure? And are you excited about these new critters being available as plushies? I would love to hear from you!
As always, I’ll “see ya real soon” Mouseketeers!
