Living Room

The Living Room in the House of the Retro Future Suite is almost an exact replica of the Disneyland attraction. From the lighting to the books on the table, guests will be transported back in time to the 1960’s with the retro furnishings in the room. There is even a working record player in the room with a selection of records for guests staying in the suite to enjoy. Plus, there is also a flat-screen TV in the Living Room area.

Bathroom

The Bathroom in the House of the Retro Future Suite is bright and spacious. Some hotel rooms have dingy lighting and dark colors in the bathrooms, but the white walls and bright lighting make this bathroom pop!

The bathroom is divided into three sections. The first section that you enter from the bedroom has a two sink countertop and a tub. Plus this portion of the bathroom is really spacious. And the hotel provides guests with plenty of clean towel and wash cloths throughout your stay.

The next section of the bathroom is divided by a door for privacy. This section features a one sink countertop and a walk-in shower. The walk-in shower is roomy with double the space of a tub shower and features lots of bright lighting. The shower floor has small square blue tiles that gives you that retro feel.

The bathroom has one toilet. It is located in a private section of the bathroom with a privacy door. The toilet area is adjacent to the section of the bathroom with the walk-in shower. The toilet itself is a “smart” toilet. If you notice the round button on the wall in the picture below, that button flushes the toilet. The toilet kind of reminds me of something you would see in a 1960’s space adventure movie.

The Disneyland Attraction

The House of the Future attraction at Disneyland park opened in June 1957 and gave guests an opportunity to tour a futuristic home made of plastic. The attraction was sponsored by Monsanto Company which was a chemicals, plastics, and synthetic fabrics company at the time. The official name of the Tomorrowland attraction was “Monsanto House of the Future”. By 1967, the House of the Future was starting to feel outdated and therefore closed later that year. The house was later demolished to make way for other attractions. Pixie Hollow now resides in the location where the “Monsanto House of the Future” was previously located.
