The Halloween season has come to an end in Disney Parks and Christmas is on the way but doesn’t officially start at Disneyland until November 10th and Walt Disney World on November 11th. So what’s next? And what will the parks do, if anything to fill the entertainment gap in 9-10 days until the Christmas holiday season officially kicks off.
Let’s take a look at the entertainment options on the Disneyland Resort schedule as well as a new/returning attraction.
A Musical Celebration of Coco
For two more days, ‘A Musical Celebration of Coco’ in the Plaza de la Familia will be performed at Disney California Adventure Park. The show takes it’s final bow for this year on this Thursday, November 2, 2023.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party
On November 10th, the Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party will take over the area where ‘A Musical Celebration of Coco’ was performed in Paradise Gardens Park. If you haven’t seen this street party, it is a must! The show includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, José Carioca, Panchito Pistoles, dancers, drummers and more.
Tale of the Lion King
Tale of the Lion King will continue to be performed five days a week in the Fantasyland Theatre with four performances per day until the show takes it’s final bow on January 7, 2024. The show is dark on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with no other entertainment taking place in the theatre on these two days. This is an amazing show so I am happy that it will continue through the holiday season.
New Adventureland Treehouse
The New Adventureland Treehouse inspired by Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson will finally open on November 10, 2023 after just over 2 years of being closed for refurbishment and its retheming. Over the next few days before the official opening, Disneyland Magic Key Holders can preview the treehouse.
The treehouse isn’t an entertainment option but I wanted to include it in this post since it is a new attraction opening in a few more days.
Fireworks & Nighttime Entertainment
Disneyland Park’s Halloween Screams had it’s final performance last night and will be replaced with Mickey’s Mix Magic over the next nine days. Note that Mickey’s Mix Magic is a projection only show during weekdays and includes fireworks only on the weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights). Beginning November 10, 2023, “Believe…In Holiday Magic” Fireworks Spectacular will take over as Disneyland Park’s Fireworks & Nighttime Entertainment through January 7, 2024.
Over at Disney California Adventure Park, World of Color – ONE will continue as DCA’s Fireworks & Nighttime Entertainment until World of Color – Season of Light takes over on November 10, 2023. The holiday show will run through January 7, 2024.
Parades & Cavalcades
Disneyland Park’s Magic Happens parade took it’s final bow for 2023 on October 15th and was then replaced by Mickey & Friends Halloween Cavalcade which ran twice a day through yesterday, October 31st. For the next nine days, Disneyland has not announced another cavalcade so I am assuming there will not one. Hopefully Disneyland will surprise us with a temporary cavalcade through the 9th of November but again, nothing has been announced so far. On Friday, November 10, 2023, A Christmas Fantasy Parade will begin running as Disneyland Park’s daily parade performing twice daily through January 7, 2024.
Across the Esplanade, Disney California Adventure will not have a daily parade at all this holiday season nor over the next nine days. Mickey’s Happy Holidays will be performed three times a days starting November 10, 2023 through January 7, 2024, but this is not a parade nor cavalcade. It is a dance along with Mickey Mouse and friends that dances along most of the parade route but is very short – only about the length of a cavalcade – maybe shorter.
Dance Party
The Disney Villains Dance Party at the Tomorrowland Stage in Disneyland Park also wrapped up last night and nothing has been announced to take it’s place over the next nine days. However, starting November 10, 2023 when the holiday season kicks off at the Disneyland Resort, the Disney Holiday Dance Party will take over the stage from 7pm to 11pm nightly.
Conclusion
So that’s about it! There isn’t a lot of entertainment at the Disneyland Resort over the next few days but at least we will have a large amount of options starting November 10th.
Are you disappointed with the entertainment options over the next few days? Are you excited for Christmas at the Disneyland Resort? Please send me a message. I would love to hear from you!
