Today is one of the most delicious days of the year – it’s National DOLE Whip Day! This is the fourth annual celebration of DOLE Whip Day which is now celebrated every year on the third Thursday of July. And, Disney Parks is celebrating DOLE Whip Day through July 21 with a few special DOLE Whip treats that will be available around the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
The world famous DOLE Whip was created by the Dole Food Company in 1984.
The dairy-free frozen treat was first introduced at Walt Disney World in 1984 and then made it’s way to Disneyland in 1986. The original DOLE Whip consisted of a float of whip in a glass of pineapple juice, topped with a maraschino cherry. Now, the main DOLE Whip treat comes swirled in a cup and it is one of the most popular treats at Disney Parks.
In December 2018, Disneyland park in California opened the Tropical Hideaway, which offers a seating and dining area for Adventureland and serves DOLE Whip treats. With more space, the Tropical Hideaway offered Disneyland with the opportunity to create more DOLE Whip flavors. Today, there are so many different DOLE Whip options available that there is something for everyone.
I am off to Disneyland to get a DOLE Whip to celebrate National DOLE Whip Day. After writing this blog, I have to get one! Can you blame me!
