Grizzly River Run Lockers

If you have ridden Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure Park since it reopened from it’s yearly winter refurbishment, you may have noticed that the lockers have moved. The Grizzly River Run lockers used to be located just beside the main entrance to the attraction near the 20-foot-tall grizzly bear statue. Since the attraction reopened from it’s winter refurbishment, the lockers have been relocated to a new location across from the Grizzly River Run entrance (also directly across from Rushin’ River Outfitters). If you face Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel while at the attractions entrance, you will see the new Grizzly Peak Recreation Area lockers.

If you have ever gotten completely soaked on Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure including your wallet and phone, you now know to get a locker before riding the attraction to keep as much of your belonging dry as possible. The lockers are available at no charge for the first 2 hours. Simply go to the Locker Rental kiosk (shown on the left in the image above and in the image below) and follow the instructions to acquire a locker while you enjoy the attraction. A credit card is required to acquire a locker but it will not be charged as long as you remove your items from the locker and check-out within 2 hours of reserving the locker.

The reason the Grizzly River Run lockers were relocated is because the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Kiosk that has always been near the entrance to the attraction is expanding and taking over the prior locker rental location. At this time, there isn’t an opening date for the updated DVC Kiosk.

Tips

If you’ve never visited Disney California Adventure Park or never ridden Grizzly River Run during a visit to the park, note that you will probably get wet – and sometimes completely soaked. And sometimes everything in the raft will be completely soaked. So if you have hoodies or jackets for the evening, bags, phones, wallets, etc that you do not want to get wet or completely soaked, take advantage of the Grizzly Peak Recreation Area lockers to keep your belongings dry while you enjoy the attraction.

When riding the attraction, it is impossible to determine which seats in the raft will get soaked. The raft turns and spins throughout the attraction and whichever seats are facing the front of the raft as it goes down the hill are usually the seats to get the most water.

Some guests wear ponchos on the attraction to stay dry – or at least to try to stay dry. Ponchos can be purchased at Rushin’ River Outfitters beside the attraction. Also, when the raft goes down the hill, lift your feet up from the floor of the raft to try to keep your shoes dry. It doesn’t always work, especially if your seat is facing the front of the raft, but sometimes it will keep your shoes dry on the attraction.

That a Wrap!

Grizzly River Run is a fun attraction at Disney California Adventure Park especially on a hot day. But on cooler days, plan on a change of cloths if you get soaked because it can get really cold in Southern California when the sun goes down.

Take advantage of the Grizzly Peak Recreation Area lockers on your next visit to Disney California Adventure Park. As long as you only use the lockers for less than 2 hours, the lockers are complimentary and will make your day much more enjoyable by keeping your belongings dry while you enjoy the attraction.
