Earl of Sandwich has opened a new pop-up location at Downtown Disney District near Star Wars Trading Post. But are they moving again? The old La Brea Bakery building was only supposed to be a temporary location for Earl of Sandwich but the location is still open with no closing date announced. So currently, Earl of Sandwich has two locations at Downtown Disney District – the Earl of Sandwich Tavern on the East end and the new pop-up location on the West end.
The pop-up location serves sandwiches, handcrafted wraps, fresh greens salads, artisan soups and much more. The hours of operation are 8am to 9pm Sunday through Saturday. This is only a temporary location for Earl of Sandwich as a new permanent location is currently under construction near the Downtown Disney District stage. According to rumors, the permanent location should be complete and ready for Earl of Sandwich to move into before the end of the year.
Original plans included Earl of Sandwich moving out of the old La Brea Bakery building on the East end and moving into this pop-up location until their new location was ready for them to permanently relocate. After Earl of Sandwich moved out of the old La Brea Bakery building, that building was going to be demolished to build a new building for Porto’s Bakery. However, Porto’s Bakery may no longer be coming to Downtown Disney District. This information hasn’t been officially confirmed but rumors are that Porto’s has backed out of their deal with Disney. If that is the case, Earl of Sandwich may stay in their current location on the East end of the District indefinitely – or at least a while longer. We should hear an official announcement in less than two weeks at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, if not sooner, on what is happening with Earl of Sandwich and the old La Brea Bakery building.
In the meantime, if you are a fan of Earl of Sandwich, make sure you check out their new pop-up location on the West end of Downtown Disney District.
