After a 2 ½ month closure for refurbishment, the Disneyland Railroad is almost ready to reopen to guests for journeys around Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom. The attraction closed on August 5, 2024 to begin a lengthy refurbishment to replace some of the track as well as to complete work on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and for continued work on the new Haunted Mansion expanded queue area. Now that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is preparing to open and will begin Magic Key pass previews next week, the Disneyland trains are ready to “choo choo” around the park once again.

The Disneyland Railroad is scheduled to reopen to guests on Friday, October, 25, 2024. The New Orleans Square station will still be closed when the railroad reopens next week while work continues on the Haunted Mansion expanded queue area. The train will still make stops at the station but guest boarding and unloading will not be available at the New Orleans Square station until the Haunted Mansion expanded queue construction has been completed.
Guests who require an accessible entrance to the attraction will need to use the Mickey’s Toontown station or Tomorrowland station. The Main Street U.S.A. station only has stairs and does not have an accessible ramp or elevator.
I am ready to hear the “clickety-clack” sound as the Disneyland Railroad Train Engines like the C.K. Holliday and Fred Gurley (pictured above) begin traveling around Disneyland Park again next Friday. “Choo Choo”!
