Disney-Pixar Elio is coming to Disney+ on September 17. Since the film was only released on Blu-Ray and DVD a day ago, it was surprising that Disney & Pixar announced today that this summers sleeper Pixar film will be available to stream on Disney+ in only one week.

Disney-Pixar Elio is about an 11 year old boy whose biggest wish is to get abducted by aliens so he waits and watches for aliens until his wish finally comes true. When Elio finally does get abducted, he is transported to the Communiverse, an interplanetary paradise that is home to intelligent life from galaxies far and wide. But when he’s mistaken as Earth’s leader, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.

The film features the voice talents of Yonas Kibreab as Elio, Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Remy Edgerly as Glordon, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO. Directed by Madeline Sharafian (Burrow Sparkshort), Domee Shi (Bao short, Turning Red) and Adrian Molina (co-screenwriter/co-director of Coco), Elio is produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of Coco).
