Disney pin trading as we know it today started in the Disney Parks back in October 1999 as part of the Millennium Celebration. Ever since, Disney Pin Trading has become a hobby or maybe even an obsession among many Disney guests. Some guests have been active Disney pin traders since the beginning and some guests are just getting started with the Disney Pin Trading Starter Sets. No matter how you started or how long you have been trading pins, pin prices are always a top question from many Disney Park guests. So, let’s take a look at the Disney Parks pin price color guide as well as discuss the price of other Disney pins like Limited Edition pins and more.

Disney Parks Pin Price Color Guide

First, let’s look at the Disney Parks pin price color guide for open edition pins. For those who are not sure what open edition means for Disney pins, these are the Disney pins that you will find in most Disney Parks merchandise locations that are on a white card back like the pins shown below.

Twenty-Five New Open Edition Pins at Disneyland & Walt Disney World

Disney open edition pins are pins that are not limited in edition size or release. These pins are mass produced for Disney Parks and may be sold at Disney Parks merchandise locations for months or even years. The Disney open edition pins do sell out and eventually retired from being produced but there isn’t any published guidelines for how long any given open edition pin will be in stock or produced. Also, many of the open edition pins that guests will find at the Disney Parks and Resorts in the United States are also sold at Disney’s International Theme Parks.

Most of Disney’s open edition pins do not have a price listed on the back of the pin, but instead have a color code sticker. This is so Disney can change the price of these open edition pins at any time without having to individually reprice each pin. The Disney pin price color code can be confusing for some guests; however, there is usually a framed pricing guide (like the one pictured below) somewhere near the pins on display which shows the pin price based on the color code sticker on the back of the pin card.

Disney Parks Pin Price Color Guide

Disney Mystery Pin Pouches (Blind Packs)

In addition to mystery blind boxes, Disney Parks sell mystery pin pouches (blind packs) that contain anywhere from one pin up to 5 pins per pack depending on the pack.

First, there are single mystery blind packs that only contain one randomly selected Disney mystery pin per pouch. These packs are usually $9.99 each and usually show an image of the pins in that series on the front or back of the mystery pouch.

Then, there are mystery blind packs that contain two and five randomly selected pins. The two pack pouches are usually $17.99 each and the five pack pouches are usually $39.99. The two pin mystery pouches usually do not show an image of the pins included in that series on the pouch. For the two pin mystery pouches, an image of the potential pins included in that series can usually be found online like for the Hidden Disney mystery blind packs. The five pin mystery blind pack pin pouches are usually themed and show a list of the pins included in that series on the back of the pouch.

That’s a wrap!

While these different pin types and prices are not a complete list of every single Disney pin available at Disney Parks, this should give any new pin trader a good start to what is available to begin or continue a Disney pin collection. But before you put a pin in it and walk away, always check with a Disney Cast Member if you have questions about pin prices or the types of pins before making a purchase. And, feel free to send me a note if you have questions about Disney pins. I’m happy to help if I can!
