During the “Disney Jr. Let’s Play!” fan celebration at Disney California Adventure Park today, Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, unveiled a slate of new and returning Disney Jr. series and specials and their premiere dates. The fan celebration takes place all weekend at the Disneyland Resort and will move to Downtown Disney for the remainder of the weekend.
Here’s a look at the announcements made today!
New Series
Cars: Lightning Racers
Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Cars films, an all-new Disney Jr. series will follow Lightning McQueen as he gears up for adventures in Radiator Springs alongside his hilarious best friend Mater and new friends. The series will introduce a thrill-seeking drag car named Pipes (voiced by Leah Lewis from Elemental) and a mud-loving monster truck named Miles (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal from Marvel Rivals video game).
The original cast from the Cars films are returning to voice the characters in the new series including Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, Tony Shalhoub as Luigi, Cheech Marin as Ramone, Bob Peterson as Chick Hicks and John Ratzenberger as Mack. Sheryl Lee Ralph from ABC’s Abbott Elementary will join the cast as the voice of a new character named Ms. Blinker.
Cars: Lightning Racers debuts on Disney Jr. and Disney+ in 2027.

Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends
Evolving from the new Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends series which premieres on Disney Jr. on August 11, 2025 and Disney+ on August 12th, Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends will introduce kid versions of the Avengers: Iron Man (Tony Stark), Captain America (Steve Rogers), Hulk (Bruce Banner), Black Panther (T’Challa), Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) and Thor. Together, the young Avengers strive to be their best selves while facing off against classic Super Baddies.
Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends debuts on Disney Jr. and Disney+ in 2027.

Hey A.J.!
Inspired by former Super Bowl champion and children’s book author Martellus Bennett, Hey A.J.! is a whimsical and music-filled family comedy about an imaginative young girl who, along with her stuffed bunny sidekick, uses her big imagination to make ordinary life moments extraordinary. Amari McCoy from Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends will voice the lead character A.J. Martellus Bennett will voice A.J.’s father, Marty, and Jhené Aiko will voice her mom, Siggi. The cast also includes Juliet Donenfeld from Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures as A.J.’s best friend Jessie, Innocent Ekakitie from Bunk’d as Jazz, and David Mitchell from Phineas and Ferb as A.J.’s bunny sidekick Theo. Meghan Trainor will recur as A.J.’s best friends mom.
Hey A.J.! debuts in 2026 on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
New Special and Shorts

Disney Jr. Ariel – The Little Mermaid
A new 22-minute special Disney Jr. Ariel – The Little Mermaid: The Glow Crystals will debut August 22, 2025 on Disney Jr. and Disney+. The special follows Ariel as she and her friends use their special gifts to rescue her family after a glitch in Ursula’s crystal ball sends her, Triton and Sebastian into a mystical cavern.

MARVEL’S SPIDEY AND IRON MAN: AVENGERS TEAM UP!
Two new Marvel 22-minute specials are coming soon to Disney Jr. and Disney+. The first special will follow Iron Man and the Avengers as they join Spidey to stop Ultron and Green Goblin from taking control of the city’s devices. This special premieres October 16, 2025 on Disney Jr. and the next day on Disney+.
The second special will premiere in the Fall of 2026 on Disney Jr. and Disney+ and will be a Halloween-themed special.

Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Halloween
This new stop-motion sing-along will feature Mickey, Minnie and the gang in a music video as they get into the Halloween mood. Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Halloween debuts September 29, 2025 on Disney Jr. and October 2nd on Disney+.

Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Christmas
A second stop-motion sing-along will feature Mickey, Minnie and the gang in a music video as they get into the Holiday spirit. Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Christmas debuts this December on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
Returning Series

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+
Even though Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ only premiered on Disney Jr. on July 21st, the popular series has already been renewed for two more seasons. Season 2 is scheduled to debut in 2027, followed by Season 3 in 2028. The first 10 episodes of Season 1 are currently streaming on Disney+ with additional episodes set to debut this fall.

SUPERKITTIES
SuperKitties is returning for a third season! This adorable and action-packed series is about four fierce and furry superhero kittens named Ginny, Sparks, Buddy and Bitsy. This Top 10 most-watched streaming series for preschoolers follows the superhero kittens as they protect their town of Kittydale. Season 3 will introduce the new “Su-Purr Wild” story arc in which the SuperKitties travel into the Kittydale Wild Jungle to adventure with their wildcat friend, Willa, and new jungle critters.
Season 3 debuts September 22, 2025 on Disney Jr. and October 1st on Disney+. Watch this clip for a preview of Season 3.

Sofia the First: Royal Magic
Produced by Disney Television Animation, Sofia the First is returning in an all-new series titled Sofia the First: Royal Magic. The new series follows Sofia as she attends The Charmswell School for Royal Magic, where she discovers she is the most magical princess in the realm and must learn how to master her powers while making new royal friends.
Ariel Winter from ABC’s Modern Family returns as the voice of Sofia along with Wayne Brady from Let’s Make A Deal as the voice of Clover, Sofia’s rabbit friend. Other returning voices include Tim Gunn from Project Runway as Baileywick, Eric Stonestreet from ABC’s Modern Family as Minimus, Sara Ramirez from ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy as Queen Miranda and Travis Willingham from The Legend of Vox Machina as King Roland.
Sofia the First: Royal Magic is set to debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+ in 2026.

Firebuds
Firebuds returns for a third season on September 15, 2025 on Disney Jr. and October 29th on Disney+. The series follows a team of young kids who are the children of first responders, living in the fantastical world of Gearbox Grove and Motopolis, where humans and their talking vehicle sidekicks work and play together. Season 3 introduces a new “Aquabuds” story arc and finds the Firebuds crew back with some new friends and equipped with new gear to use in daring water rescues.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures
The popular Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures returns for a third season Fall 2025. Set 200 years before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, during the High Republic era, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures follows Jedi younglings as they study the ways of the Force, explore the galaxy, help citizens and creatures in need, and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi along the way. Season 3 follows the young Jedi as they delve into the world of droid care, befriending a droid shop owner named Dotti and three new droids: Beepers, Dozer and Gigi.
Season 3 of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures will debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+ this Fall.
