The Disney Destiny is gearing up for its maiden voyage on November 20 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and one of the finishing touches recently made to the ship before it leaves the shipyard was to install the first-ever Marvel stern character on a Disney Cruise Line ship. Using cranes to hoist the larger-than-life sculpture, the shipyard team installed Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots to the back of the ship.

The stern figure depicts Spider-Man swooping into action as he teams up with three Spider-Bots to add the finishing touches to the ship’s geometric filigree. The sharp edges and crisscrossing designs in the filigree are a playful nod to Spider-Man’s web-slinging skills. The Spider-Bots are equipped with yellow-dipped paintbrushes and some must-have cruise accessories, including sunglasses and a snorkel mask.

Disney Heroes and Villains

The Disney Destiny will feature several Marvel-Inspired spaces inspired by the Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Spider-Man and other Marvel Universe characters. But the newest ship coming to the Disney Cruise Line fleet is not only Marvel themed, the ship will also feature other Disney heroes and villains including the fabulous evil diva, Cruella De Vil.

The ship will have an all-new piano lounge that pays homage to Cruella’s fashionista legacy called De Vil’s. Inside the lounge, an eye-catching spotted piano will be the focal point of the venue with furniture and decor all around the lounge inspired by Cruella’s fabulous style.

Bookings for the the inaugural season of sailings on the Disney Destiny are open with the maiden voyage sailing on November 20, 2025 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
