The Disney Destiny, Disney Cruise Line’s new heroes and villains inspired ship will set sail in late 2025. And today, Disney unveiled a few details about their newest cruise ship. Disney Destiny will depart from Disney Cruise Line’s newest port, Port Everglades, instead of Port Canaveral when it debuts in 2025. Other details released today include information about staterooms, suites and dining.
Hero-Worthy Staterooms and Suites
Like every Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Destiny will offer spacious, comfortable and functional staterooms that uniquely meet the needs of your traveling group. Most staterooms will feature Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bath concept, allowing more than one person to get ready at a time, and many rooms will offer the option of a connecting door to accommodate larger families.
Keeping with the ship’s unique theme, every stateroom and suite will showcase custom artwork depicting the epic journeys of famous Disney legends.
Concierge guests aboard the Disney Destiny will receive a premium level of dedicated service and access to exclusive areas and amenities throughout their voyage, including a concierge lounge and private sun deck.
Large, lavishly appointed concierge staterooms and suites will draw guests into the mysterious and fantastic world of Disney Animation’s Fantasia through elegant, watercolor-style artwork illustrating the rich color palette and otherworldly spectacle of the classic film.
Seven special ocean view rooms located directly above the bridge and adorned in the distinctive iconography of Disney-Pixar’s The Incredibles will provide awe-inspiring, floor-to-ceiling views.
Royal Suites
Hercules Hero Suites
In four royal suites of heroic proportions (and views!), you will be empowered to embrace your own destiny. The Hero Suites will celebrate the majestic powers and noble heroism at the heart of Disney Animation’s “Hercules” with Greco-Roman-inspired design elements, colors and patterns.
The Incredibles IncrediSuites
And the boldly themed IncrediSuites will invoke the exhilarating exploits of “The Incredibles” through a streamlined mid-century modern aesthetic inspired by the Pixar films.
New The Lion King Inspired Dining Experience Coming to the Disney Destiny
Like all Disney Cruise Line ships, the Disney Destiny will feature imaginative restaurants where guests can interact with Disney stories in exciting ways … including the debut of a brand-new family dining experience exclusive to this ship. This will be just one of 3 imaginative restaurants that guests will enjoy each night of their cruise.
The iconic songs and legendary moments of The Lion King will come to life at “Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King”, a first-of-its-kind dining experience celebrating the renowned music from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film that continues to transcend generations.
The enchanting venue will be inspired by the African savanna, with unique depictions of animals and nature brought to life through lighting and special effects. The back wall will be lined with large windows that transform from stunning sunrises to enchanting sunsets throughout the meal, while the center of the restaurant will have tiered risers that mimic the look of African drums.
A colorful ensemble of live musicians and storytellers will take the stage to present a musical journey through the award-winning soundtrack as you dine. During special intervals throughout the meal, the band and performers will revisit the iconic songs from The Lion King using authentic African instruments and theatrical props to represent the story and characters. Audiences will delight in:
- Productions of “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata;”
- A mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared,” a fun take that highlights the hero-villain dynamic of the story;
- An instrumental version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” paired with a beautiful interpretive dance; and
- A moving rendition of “He Lives in You” from the sequel film and Broadway show.
Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King is just one of the new spaces coming to this heroes and villains themed ship.
It’s a Sweet Shop, Darling
Edna Mode’s lab, where the famed fashion designer from Disney-Pixar’s The Incredibles films whips up outfits for the world’s most famous Supers, will be transformed into a unique confectionary at the brand-new “Edna Á La Mode Sweets” aboard the Disney Destiny.
Inspired by the “Auntie Edna” short film, Edna’s sewing equipment will be repurposed as sweet-making devices – and the result is, shall we say… marvelous?!
This dessert spot is sure to be a hit with guests, with handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies and specialty treats served in a space full of bolts of fabric and costume models. And while she never looks back, you might have to do a double-take of the picture-perfect sculptures of both Edna and Jack-Jack (one hard at work and one hungry for “num nums!”).
