Walt Disney Studios has confirmed that a live-action Lilo & Stitch 2 is now officially in development. The sequel was announced this week in a playful video featuring Stitch wreaking havoc across The Walt Disney Studios lot.
The first live-action Lilo & Stitch film based on the 2002 animated classic movie was released in theaters on May 23, 2025 and was an instant success. On its opening weekend, the film became the highest grossing film over a Memorial Day weekend. To date, the film has grossed around $923 million worldwide and stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Agudong as Nani and Kaipo Dudoit as David. Chris Sanders also reprised his role as the original voice of Stitch from the 2002 Disney animated classic film.
A timeframe for the release of Lilo & Stitch 2 has not been announced by Disney but you can except at least 2-3 years before the live-action sequel will arrive in theaters.
