Today, Disney announced some super exciting news! Create Your Own Character Headbands are coming soon to Disneyland! These super cute customizable headbands are already available at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, but are now making their way to California.
How it works
These new Character Headbands will let guests mix and match different Disney & Pixar character mini plush heads to create your very own, and truly unique headband. Here’s how it works:
- First, guests will choose a headband. Based on the announcement information, it appears that there will only be one type of headband to choose from but hopefully if that is correct, there will be more options coming in the near future.
- Next, guests will choose as many of the mini plush head accessories they would like to add to their headband. The preview images show three character plush on one headband but it looks like guest could add more.
- Then, guests will secure the character plush heads to the headband and it will be ready to wear and showoff their masterpiece.
These are the character plush head accessories that guests will be able to add to their headband:
- Mickey Mouse
- Minnie Mouse
- Donald Duck
- Daisy Duck
- Chip
- Dale
- Winnie the Pooh
- Tigger
- Stitch
- Buzz Lightyear
- Toy Story Alien
- Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear
An official arrival date for these new Create Your Own Character Headbands has not been announced yet, but the headbands should show up at the Disneyland Resort around April 26, 2024 when Pixar Fest begins. The Create Your Own Character Headbands will be available at The Mad Hatter on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park and Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff on Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park.
A price for these new Create Your Own Character Headbands has not been announced yet but I will keep you posted as soon as I find out more!

I am usually not a hat person – nor a headband person. I don’t really like having something on my head all day. But, I like these headbands so much that I might have to make an exception and start wearing a headband from time to time. I’ll either create my headband with a Mickey & Minnie plush or a Mickey & Donald plush. And I might have to create a second one with Chip & Dale because that looks so cute.
As soon as I find out a price and exact arrival date, I’ll let you know!
