Celebrate Soulfully at the Disneyland Resort during Black History Month with music, food, artwork and more. All throughout the year you can enjoy great offerings celebrating Black cultures at the Disneyland Resort, but during February, there’s even more for you to enjoy!
Let’s take a look at what is lined up for Celebrate Soulfully in 2024.
Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland Park
Celebrate Gospel returns to Disneyland Park starting February 17 – 24, 2024. Concerts for the celebration will take place in the Fantasyland Theatre and will be headlined by Marvin Sapp (Feb. 17) and Tasha Cobbs Leonard (Feb. 24). Celebrate Gospel is an annual tribute to Gospel music that brings together award-winning music artists and community choirs from across Southern California.
Other Entertainment Around the Resort
In addition to Celebrate Gospel at the Disneyland Resort, here are a few other regular entertainment offerings that Celebrate Soulfully:
- Watch Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band on select evenings along the Rivers of America in Disneyland Park as Queenie performs with the spirited Jambalaya Jazz Band.
- Pay tribute to American heroes at the Frederick Douglass Exhibit at Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln in the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland Park. Frederick Douglass, a prominent leader of the abolitionist movement, escaped slavery and became a renowned social reformer, writer and statesman.
- Listen to Five & Dime on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park as soulful singer Dime and her jazz quintet perform hits from the ’20s and ’30s.
Meet Characters at both Theme Parks
Even though guests can meet most of these characters year-round at the Disneyland Resort Theme Parks, character meet and greets are highlighted as an offering for Celebrate Soulfully.
- Meet Asha from Walt Disney Animation Studios film Wish in front of The Royal Hall in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park.
- Meet Tiana from Walt Disney Animation Studios film The Princess and the Frog in the streets of New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park. You can also sometimes find her at her newest restaurant location Tiana’s Palace which serves Cajun and Creole Cuisine.
- Meet Ariel from the Walt Disney Studios Live-Action film The Little Mermaid near “it’s a small world” in Fantasyland (Small World Mall area) in Disneyland Park.
- Meet the Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Captain America & Captain Monica Rambeau in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park.

Are you excited to try some of the food dishes available during Celebrate Soulfully? Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I am definitely going to try the Brunch Platter at River Belle Terrace.
I thought I remembered more entertainment being offered last year for Celebrate Soulfully but I could be mistaken. Anyway, I am excited to attend Celebrate Gospel in mid-February. Maybe I’ll see you there!
