The Disney Treasure completed another milestone in it’s journey to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet. On September 18, 2024, the ship was guided by a tugboat down the Ems River from Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany toward open water for the first time. Waving spectators lined the river’s shores to celebrate the ship as it passed by. Over the next few days, the ship will go through a series of rigorous tests, known as sea trials, where the ship’s stability, speed, and maneuverability are tested. Captain Marco, the captain of the Disney Treasure, will step onboard the ship to help oversee the trials and ensure the Disney Treasure is ready for its upcoming transatlantic journey to Port Canaveral in Florida.

Another Milestone for the DCL Disney Treasure

The Disney Treasure will officially join the Disney Cruise Line fleet in late December 2024 when it takes it’s maiden voyage on December 21, 2024. The ship will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries with the maiden voyage being an Eastern Caribbean cruise. The Eastern Caribbean itinerary will offer sailings to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and Disney Castaway Cay. And, the Western Caribbean itinerary will offer sailings to Cozumel in Mexico, George Town in the Grand Cayman, Falmouth in Jamaica and Disney Castaway Cay.
